I was gonna post a picture of it but forgot. It is a new graphics card that will change everything. Have you seen toy story? The GF3 allows real time shadows and effects unheard of before on the desktop. It will be the graphics card in Microsofts X-Box. So here is a Geforce3 review

Oh yeah it costs 529.99$ or more. It costs about as much as McMans Cultivator. It's not even out yet. ETA is first week of April.

I currently have a geforce 2. I am a huge quake 3 arena Team Arena fan. I make maps which is really fun and I play like every day. I lost my job about 2 weeks ago. It's been all q3a and map making. Fun fun fun. I am thinking about digging in and learning Visual Basic C++ but it's tough. Thats great that The Cultivator is coming back so soon. I thought it would be longer.

I am collecting unemployment. Plus I have enough saved up to buy one or the other. The thing is in 6 months there will be a new better video card and this one will be cheaper. On the other hand the McMan Cultivator will always be worth the same amount. But holy shit is this thing hot looking or what.

Whoa When I voted I thought the geoforce 3 was some silly gaming system. Now that I realized thet it is a super ass graphics card go with that. How much time do you think you will spend playing computergames? You don't have a job so you have a shitload of time. McMan was allready selling them for $350 so you would feel silly paying that much just for "air entertainment." You can accomplish this easily with a rubbermaid and cool mist, just check out DD.

Indeed the unit is alot more than just an air entrainment system. I would just like the satisfaction of getting close to labratory conditions. Anyway the results look pretty grim. Good thing I get to make up my own mind either way. I am buying something :smile:!

I gotta tell ya... I have McMans cultivator and the few people that have been priviledged enough to see it have just about creamed their pants (that includes me).
It really is a fine piece of equipment and makes cultivating that much more fun when you feel like you're running a shroomy LAB rather then a shroomy tuperware box...

HOWEVER... the captain is right. If you lost your job, then maybe you should just keep the money so you can still pay the bills. Neither of these fancy contraptions is gonna help if you're struttin around the streets sifting through other peoples garbage for cans and bottles just to buy a small cheeseburger for dinner (or maybe a bottle of cheap wine).

I get 250$ a week in unemployment and my rent is 300$ a month. I have some saved too so money is not a big deal.

Eddie,

You know you will have many more hours of enjoyment with the cultivator as opposed to the video card. Video cards have a half life of what? 6 months? The cultivator is about as nice as it gets for home cultivation. You will be useing it for years. If you want it, get it!

Agreed JustAnotherTraveler the MC is an investment for the future. I am leaning toward the MC but it's still an amusing dillemma.

One super specialized device or another. It's actually a huge complement to McMan that so far his device is beating a 530$+ high end video card. The Geforce 3 has 57 million transistors. The pentium 4 has 42 million transistors.

Pentium 4 sucks ass. I am a brazenly partisan AMD fan. Go check out benchmarks on tomshardware.com

I may end up ordering a cultivator sooner or later, but my new kilt set me back $300 so I hafta wait. SOMEDAY, though :)

I'd buy a fancier video card, but it really wouldn't make my porn look any better. I'll be first in line for a card that does!

I have Tom's hardware bookmarked too. I am a huge hardware junky. He has an excelent article on the Nomad Jukebox my favorite toy.

I am a huge AMD enthusiest however the Thunderbird only has 37 million transistors. The P4 I felt was a better comparison even though it is a piece of crap. I only have a few problems with the P4. Having to buy a new case being one. Rambus & $$$#2. The fact that on clock per clock the P4 gets beat on most benchmarks #3. Sorry for the OTD disscusion here.

Oh yeah and some more info. There are 2 computers in my house right now. One is a 550 P3 overclocked to 733. The other is a 600 Duron running at 1000. Overclocking is the shiznit.
