Black Swan is one of my favourites.

:awemazing:

Dang that's a beautiful specimen! Love the deep colors and the flaunty petals.

A few of the Black Swan plants I had were like those^ but most produced more ruffled/pom pom types of flowers like this>>>

I have something similar to that. I think the Deep Purple and the Black Swan crossed themselves

They start with two thin cotyledons then making leafs with pointy teeth (not sure the proper term). They'll look like little heads of romaine.

Nice!

When did you sow the seed?

Mine are going to be late bloomers, I forget exactly when I sowed my seed but IIRC it was back around March. Mine are starting to take off though, a few about 6 to 8 inches tall.

I'm growing them in a couple pots, so only going to have a few plants since I don't grow 'em too crowded. One pot is full of mineral based/earthy soil, somewhat loamy, and the plants are dandy...but the other pot is a coco based soil and those plants don't seem to be fans of the coco, I'm assuming the ph and/or the cal/mag or some other nute is out of wack, the plants are growing but they're growing rather flat/prostrate instead of perked upward and the leaves/nodes are packed close to each other.

The couple I planted in dirt that only get direct light 6 hours a day are somehow bigger than the ones in pots that get light all day...and get more care.

Poppies love Neglect Tek. They're very weedy.

Beautiful, useful weeds, but they are weeds.

Is that from the Hens & Chicks seeds I sent out?

Indeed๐Ÿ‘. Volunteer from last year. I was trying to remember if it came up last fall or this spring. But can't๐Ÿ˜’. There's three heads, wonder if they all will have the dinglesberrys๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'll sprinkle the seeds around some places I think will do good for next year.
