Poppy Question.

okay i have a couple poppies growing (papver somniferum) they are a couple months old, and decent sized, the longest leaves are about 3-4 inches long, and they have lots of leaves. my question is, would these plants contain enough alkaloids to make tea with or something? theyre not flowering, and i cant really let them flower, because it will look quite obvious if i have a bunch of opium pods growing on my windowsill....anyone know anything about how high of an alkaloid content these would have?

They will work. Take all plant with roots and everything. Grind up in blender with lemon juice and hot water. Steep for 30 minutes and strain, drink the tea. Start with one cup and wait 30min-1hour to see if u get effects, if little effects drink more. I heard poppies above one month have as much alkaloid content as mature pod but I havnt verified that.

Actaully many people eat the plant in cabbage stage while thinning. I would reccommand making tea though.

It really matters on the strain of the plant, my friend drank P tea today with 1/2 cup of ground up pods which equal about 18-20 mediums and he didnt get that messed up. If I was u i'd make poppy putty out of what you have. Just grind up the plant into fine powder then add a small amount of hot water mix with honey, lemon juice, whatever you want to mask the taste and then eat the putty that it makes. You may feel sick to your stomach at first but it will pass after the first 45 minutes after it kicks in
