I birthed then because all had been fully colonized for at least a week (some closer to 2 weeks). I did the same procedure last time around and my cakes started to pin and form healthy mushies around 8 days

I thought about bottom watering but they really don't feel light. Think I should give that a shot anyway? It always feels like having the cakes sit in standing water would be a bit of a contam risk but I have tried it in the past. Never seemed like the cakes soaked up much water in my previous grows when I tried that.

These pins have all been the same size and haven't grown for at least 3 days or so, and I thought the caps were starting to look black. But maybe I'm tripping.

Not sure if it my tolerance but the fresh shrooms hit so much harder. Might try some freshies tomorrow and see if that makes any difference.

If under capacity could just be stressed mycelium. But I don’t see anything alarming. Maybe just on the dry side.

In my ABV grow log I went u see field capacity and just ended up with a tub of aborts. 😝

But I definitely get the want to conduct science. If you don’t have beads I would give her a light misting.  I zoomed in and can’t see any though.

thank you, that's so great to hear, so i know why i'm messing up this much, and i know there's room for improvement.

i couldn't test properly on agar bc also clones on my bought agar plates didn't show shit, and i was scared to do my agar plates since i don't have a flow hood, than i opted for no pours

since i had a decent grow with this LC i thought it was good to go



so now i'll clean plates from clones and do a proper sslc with that

I harvested some fresh APEs yesterday morning and placed them on the dehydrator racks.  I'm not sure if I hit a wrong button or if something else happened but it never ran.  I found them about 12 hours later and they had darkened up quite a bit - black and blue.  The had been at about 60-65 degrees the whole time.  I reset the dehydrator and started it last night.

Are these trash?  When I opened the dehydrator there was a whiff of death and dirt, but the smell went away.  Just trying to tell if these are still OK once dried out.
