Hello buds, I have recently gotten a liquid culture going after injection with a spore syringe, it was sunday (04.19.2026) and it seems to have been growing fine since then, no clear signs of contamination in the second jar, but the other I’m not so sure. I hereby wish to ask people with more experience about their opinion. I have 2 LC jars 100ml each, 4% honey solution. Tell me if you spot anything concerning, thanks in advance!

Hi bud,

If you injected your LC broth with multi spore solution you should throw it away and go MSS -> Agar -> LC

Always verify your LC by putting some to agar before injecting anything

Thanks. But yellow metabolites have reduced after I stopped Misting. Check out new photos after 12 hrs. Check and give inputs. All experienced growers. Btw it's a wild strain of p cubenis.

Does this look like P. Natalensis to you or is it Ochra?

Could someone link me with a picture guide describing ideal harvest conditions pls?
Also: is rehydration really nessecary after each flush?

GT - maybe a couple of hours or 1 day to harvest? the steams are are small but thick. This need more FAE? I leave the lid of shoebox a litle open (1cm or some). And why the grow so disorded!? 😁

I don't have a picture guide for you, but for cubes, harvest right before veil breaks and drops spores.
I have had greater success by rehydrating the substrate. I have had fruits show up in second harvest without rehydration but less fruit. It doesn't take any time to mist and the benefits are worth it imo.

I’ll wait and see if it works out, but yeah I might stock up on agar soon if it’s less risky. My only issue is that I have ventilation that cannot be turned off and throwing in some agar would likely contam it because of the need to actually open the jar.

I thought the aquarium airstone would be enough. But I guess it's useless since the CO2 just settles in the monotub.

Not exactly sure what you mean. But I had a few failures in the past and would get discouraged after failures and not do anything for several months.
So I changed my strategy to kinda just "throwing shit at the wall and see what sticks".
I got several tubs and spawn jars going on simultaniously so no worries if I fuck something up. I still have enough backups.

For a standard/classic cubensis variety, the stipes look pretty beefy to me

But is it a standard cubes variety? Is this ochra at all or did I get scammed?
I got this from a spore syringe that was sold as "P. Natalensis"

Looks like cubensis but ochra has become very watered down so you may have ochra.

What makes you think you've been scammed?

If it hadn't grown mushrooms I still wouldn't feel I was scammed.

Ah, I thought we were both referring to mobyhat's GT grow.

Yours look fairly average for a cube type I guess - maybe slightly on the thinner side.

But if those are ochras or nats, I don't know and I can't tell you which one they are, either :smirk:

After a pretty successful first go at PF Tek (~38gs dried) I'm giving a second go around with GT LC I purchased from the same vendor as the first time.

Literally everything I have done (including my water tub, etc.) is identical but everything seems to be stalled out. I am 3 and a half weeks post-birth at this point have a few small pins but even they seem to be stalled. Here are some pics from right after I misted this morning.

While the cakes were colonizing, they did have a day where I was gone and the temp in my house dropped to 58F. But that was just a day and besides that they've been in the 72-76F range. Could that have somehow messed with them? I would think not but that truly is the only thing I've done differently this time around.

Any thoughts on what I should do? I'm thinking of redunking all of them in a few days here if I don't see more pins/growth.

I think Brominegeek93 mistakenly thought mobyhat was talking about his fruit with thin stipes and calling his grow disordered,  but mobyhat was asking questions about his own grow which has fat little pins which just need to grow some more.

Going to try my hand at APE, have read on here that it is one of the more potent types. The place I’ve ordered my spores from has a “cut” version of APE. What is tbe difference with the “cut” type?

Will do more research today, but figured I’d ask, is there a preferred spawn or anything I need to be immediately concerned with like that for APEs? I grew B+, Blue Meanie and x7x+ last year in my first year.

Cubes are cubes. Same conditions/materials apply.

Just with APE varieties, you can have slower growth sometimes. But that’s also hit or miss.

Had some APES that speed ran it. Some that took ages.

Only thing I’ve noticed with my albino varieties that have any APE genetics is they seem to like a little less FAE/GE
