I'm glad to hear you're planning the next project, what are you going to do differently? Looks like the second flush in coming in nicely

First it's just gonna help that I know what to expect. But it'll probably sound like real basic stuff. But I am a complete beginner, I've been winging it, and as soon as I got with the program. I pretty much just did what you told me to do. So obviously I'll be doing that again, but also I had it in the wrong place for 2 weeks, I don't think my FAE was on point and I was misting far too much. I'm going to have the patient to see it right thru to the end too. My first flush was way off being ready, but boy did they work.
I'm thinking about doing maybe 2 more pre inoculated kits. Before looking into becoming self sufficient and using a box. I'd also like to set up a "Martha tent". If they're all they're cracked up to be. Basically a self contained mushroom house. It'd be perfect for me. Especially if I can introduce them to my other grow project. Apparently they compliment each other. Which blew my mind when I learnt that, as it seems destined.

That's the plan anyway. Right now I'm just concentrating on the second flush of my golden teachers.
For the record I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for my APE'S. Hoping they're just living up to their slow rep. I don't wanna give up on em, as they might be slow, but it's worth the bloody wait, no doubt.
I'll do a pic.
Ps sorry for the essay, it's been a while since I've had time to bore you guys with my jeggeries.
Your patience is appreciated.

Sounds like a solid plan, only thing that comes to mind is the Martha, unless you're getting into exotic species a Martha just complicate things a lot. For cubes shoeboxes and tubs is the best and easiest way to success.

And even if you want to venture into exotics, I believe the JCM and dreamer tub is a better option anyway, but that is just my opinion.

And I can't speak for others, but I am not bored with your posts, I enjoy reading a noobs journey into this addiction that is mushroom cultivation.

I understand your APE hunger, they are great

No, no, it's literally just something I heard online, saw a pretty cool video of some lad using one. An the appeal was strictly about the apparent convenience, straightforward way it looked, and the way it seemed to make the best use of the little space I have. I've no problem ditching that idea, I'm just blue sky thinking, is it they say. An before every decision, I'll do my reading. One of the best things I found was being reminded how much I love to learn and study. I might look like a rude boy, but I'm a bit of a nerd really. So I've made no solid plans yet, except wanting to keep doing it.
Also your words enough for me brother, I'd love to believe I won't always be bowing to your superior knowledge. But having just turned 46 (god! That's a right kick into teeth, I'm far too vain to be getting old and soft, I like being hard bodied and all action), I straight haven't got enough years left to catch you up bruv!
Another thing you put me right on, which I know for next time, was ditch the heat mat.
I dare not hope I might still be able to call on your help going into the future. But I do.
Thanks for being so nice and welcoming.

Forgot to post this. My poor old (they're about 2 weeks older than the golden teacher, which is going great guns. I really hope it's just a bit slow. Because I really liked them, they were even better than I hoped. But I don't think I'd get it again, or I wouldn't wanna get the kit. Maybe if I ever step it up to the next level. But I reckon the money it costs for me it's better to play it safe and get a more manageable strain. My dehydrator arrives Monday so I've been looking into the other part of this project.
Is it correct that you should wait 2 weeks to go on a trip, cos a tolerance is built up? Or did I just do it wrong.

There is nothing wrong with a Martha and you can surely grow cubes in them, but in my opinion it's much harder to dial them in, cost more and not necessary for cubes at all.

No need to bow to me brother, I've barely been at this hobby for one and a half year and there's always a bigger fish, I'm just trying to help in any way I can to get you up and running because that is what others did for me and I really like this hobby and it has helped my mental health a lot, mostly growing them, but also being able to have these inward journeys from time to time.

And you are only 4 years older then me so we're in the same boat going the same way, but you're a couple of rows further up

And you won't need my or others help if you keep at it, at some point the fine tuning comes from experience cultivating in your home environment and unless your neighbor is on here only you can do that, and even if I step away there will be plenty of skilled cultivators to help out. And I am in many ways a noob myself, there are far more skilled cultivators then me :awesomenod:

I am glad you feel like I helped though and it feels great knowing you feel welcome, that matters a lot, so thanks for the kind words

Ape, hasn't been harder for me to grow, they're a little slower and don't push out canopies for me yet, but they pack a solid punch and the trip has been awesome for me. If you plan on doing this hobby you'll have more then enough for you and your friends in no time anyway. And your bag is still going I see, nice.

You shouldn't have any tolerance after 2 weeks, not even after 1 week in my opinion.

So if you're not going for another APE kit, any thoughts about moving on to agar and maybe do your own grain jars eventually?

Sorry for being so lame. An I wanna say bow is just me trying to be clever. But I've been trying to get physcadelics for 2 years now and I had almost given up. I'm not even sure what made me think I could do such a thing. I have a wonderful dog Gizmo, so it weren't a chore, but I spent the entire mushroom season, in prime liberty cap country. Walking a dog in fields and woods. I found 1 definite library cap, and I mean 1, it had a deformed looking one next to it, but there it stood proud AF, taunting me. While my mum wondered round with Gizmo finding them all over. She's the one who started me on this journey. It was awesome to see her change for the better. She did share, but it was just enough to make me want mushrooms. Then my cousin's weirdo mate made some DMT, then shit got real, too real for me, I don't think I'm ready. But it's fucking legit. An I find mushrooms to be a bit of fun without having to ask yourself if you are actually talking to, god isn't right but whatevs!
So if you wudda told me, there's a guy gonna help you, for no money, without any kinda judgement and regular shit. I'd have said your mad, but I wudda been on my knees if you mentioned access to my own physcadelics.
You wudda had no chance if you tried to tell me that you were gonna teach me all about my new hobby. I'd have been scared.
So you're doing yourself dirty mate. If I get what I want., you will have helped change my life bre.
I grant you I'm just a bum from Yorkshire. But it beats a kick into teeth. An there's a lot of that going around at the moment.

Ha! Absolutely brilliant thanks.
I'm not gonna apologise cos I stand by every word. I cudda probably done it in less, and your humility is a credit to you.
I'll not fan boy out like that again, I do play it cool in all situations usually. But anonymity is quite freeing. I think I have also said that I absolutely love words and always have. So I will apologise for my flowery language.
But I didn't want to let it slide, cos you went above and beyond and, at least in my experience that's pretty rare. So please take your props, and my gratitude. I know I ain't the only one who thinks your cool AF!
I also think I am too, so I'm not sure how much stock you should put in my humble opinion. Joke.
Thanks again friend

I've been busy today. I am genuinely stunned by how well they've turned out. They look bloody legit. Orange and blackcurrant golden teacher gummies. I can't say that I know what I am doing with dried shrooms or even confectionary. I am pretty ruthless in the kitchen but I buy my puddings, and I do enjoy a good desert. I've only just started baking since I mastered making canabutter and oil. So I know my way around a kitchen. But I've thought of this as a recce. But check me out.

I've just been telling the lads that they look spot on its just a matter of if they work.
Well they certainly do, now I shall learn how much they work. It's chocolate next

I feel like I haven't been on in ages, so here's an update.
I've been really busy with work, I think we might have a blasted diesel shortage. Which is almost unthinkable, but it's looking like it. I've also been on with my other project, which is going great guns.
So it'll be the third flush for my golden teachers and the second flush for my APE'S, the fact they're still rolling, slow or not, is awesome.
The gummies went down ok. Some said they could be stronger, but they certainly work. It's my first attempt too, so the fact they're all gone, is a success.

If the ape looks a bit weird, It's cos I flipped the cake, there was no pins on top, so without opening it, I carefully flipped it. They looked better for it within an hour. So I think it's worked

Got a great haul from my Albino Penis Envy, they live. An the golden teachers, totally ignored the coir casing I put on top, and they burst from the sides. Other than them looking a bit funky, I am just happy to see them. I foolishly didn't check my weight pics, so only realised how the weight wasn't visible as they began drying. So thos is a rough estimate.
APE'S - 85g fresh
Golden teacher - 75g fresh.
Happy days!
