I did two quarts that produced amazing results before finally retiring the tubs to harvest the stones. I got a quart of grain going now showing very beautiful signs of stones developing. I’ll send that to bulk in January, case it in February to fruit it. These things are all about patience, and totally worth it.

I didn't care much for the trip with the stones. Not necessarily suggesting it was the stones that were the issue, but the taste lingered the whole trip too, burping it up, etc. I preferred the fruits in every way. Stones are definitely set and forget anyway, if one wanted to mass produce while doing nothing...

TBH, I haven’t tried the stones yet. Just don’t know how to dose them. I know I’m gonna lemon tek them. Did you lemon tek them or just chew them up and down them?
Anytime I eat truffle anything, I burp up truffle for hours and hours. Truffle fries, hot sauce, pasta, infused evoo, etc. So if these have that truffle taste, I’m not excited about the burping taste part! 😂

Simple popcorn spawn, manure compost, cased CVG, sand, & calcium carbonate.

I swear tampanensis are the most beautiful species. From the concentric rings from light cycles on agar to the spaghetti UFOs and bright gradient caps, and bizarre blobby sclerotia jars, there’s just so much going on with them. Gorgeous. I think the biggest trouble is getting them to print nicely… I rarely see them in the Marketplace :awepreciation::thumbup:

Naw. They definitely don't taste like real truffles. I kinda wish they did, but that name is more just because of the texture and because they grow below the surface of the substrate like true truffles.

To me the initial taste is pretty similar to walnut, but then there is a bile after taste a little like acid reflux when I have just munched them fresh. Having that with you the whole trip is not great. That is what started me on my gummy journey.

You just made me have zero desire to eat them fresh even for not one experience. I’ll lemon tek these for sure. I’m probably gonna start with 2g split between the wife and I. I’m insanely itching to make your gummies. I’d like to make a bunch and portion them into little vac seal bags to keep them fresh. Just gotta find the time, but don’t we all.

2g will be a pretty low dose. Fine if that is what you are going for. I would put 5 grams fresh stones very approximately around the same as 1 dry gram of cubes.
WARNING: They have surprised me before, though. So be safe, but don't be surprised if 2 grams is really light.

I really need to grow some again just to do some qtests on. I am ashamed to admit that I have never potency tested stones yet. It has been on my to do list for a while now.

Edit: And I will never not up vote a PF reference. I may be a cliche, but they will always be my favorite.

I have 7 quarts of Atl 7 that are almost fully colonized, some are.

I was thinking of sending one to straw and coir. Is there a disadvantage to spawning them like cubes? As opposed to allowing stones to form in the grain, harvesting stones, and then spawning to bulk?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks!:mushroom2:

There are some panaeolus phenotypes that are even better you should look up. And the soft texture adds even more depth.

I took 20g fresh of stones, which at 66% water(I'm taking your word for it there), that would be equal to 6.6g dry.

If 1.66g dry stone equals 1g dry of average cube, then my dosage would equal 3.97g dry cube, which I would disagree with. Genetic variation of course, so maybe mine were weak, but I'd probably compare it to 2g of average dry cubes, overall.

Im not in any way suggesting a conclusion be had here, I simply thought it was worth adding to the collective opinion of things.

I also tossed the remaining 60 fresh grams of stones and will not go out of my way to produce them again. Imo, the fruits were better in every way.

Good info my bro! The collective is what it’s about. In my limited experience tamps hit way lighter than cubes to begin with. I believe the head load to be way less, and the body buzz way more. So if the stones are hitting the same way, it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Worth tossing them? I don’t know. I don’t toss anything I cultivate. I’m super curious to try the stones now. They will definitely be my next indulgence now, just to know what we are talking about. From others opinions here the stones and fruits hit differently.
