I also use a chalk marker (mentioned above) but not for labeling plates. I use it to track questionable jars that slow down or that were neglected.

Its easy AF to wipe off and allows more exact measurements of tracking growth never leaving me to question: how is this particular culture moving?

I never would have bought one of these at full price, but I found one of the North Spore Boomr Bins second hand for 20. Never been used. Came with the fan kit and humidifier adapter but not the humidifier. Was thinking I might hook it up to the unused 4th port on my fogger. This thing has a much larger tub under it than I expected. Also came with 2 of North Spore's manure-based Boomer Bags and a grain bag. I don't trust the grain bag, so I may toss that. I have no idea how long or where it has been sitting. I've been curious if a tub like this would perform as well as my DIY fruiting tubs. I can already say that the fan and hardware I used to build mine was better quality. But it also cost significantly more than 20 to build that whole setup.

When you start out, your spawning surface conditions are not going to be perfect. The tek your following isn't going to perfectly match your altitude. Your going to pickup some misinformation.

There's a time in the cultivation life cycle, no matter your skill level when your surface moisture is lacking and needs some love. Yes its a sin here to mist, debunked, I get it. However:

get this this spray bottle.

Make sure to hide it from your girl (or guy, w/e your into) -- this thing produces the finest mist in all the land. It eliminates any potential for you to over-saturate your surface, or to leave beads too large. It eliminates the "be careful!!! Don't mist too close to them fruits!!", the "hold the spray xx inches into the air...".

7$, you get two. They are not flimsy peaces of trash and your mushrooms will thank you.

And you don't need some specific spray bottle. Any spray bottle will work.

This is one of my favorite tools. The clip! And this happens to be a new one. For those that are doing no soak no simmer millet in bags this acts as a second set of hands to keep those pleats in check before I turn these water balloons into neat little millet burritos.

I respectfully disagree. Makes a big difference:
#1 Less droplets on the walls and increases visibility when used in the SAB w/ soap water
#2 No side wall pooling in small enclosures like sandwich baggies used to top-fruit questionable spawn jars
#3 Less water used > less trips to refile the bottle
#4 Small form factor
#5 Has helped with cleaning non mycology stuff because the particles are smaller and don't pool

edit: It's talked about here. and is more of a meme than anything. The current best practice is that if you mist, your water / spawn / configuration is off. Which I would disagree with. Full list of my reasons live here now.

Anyone looking for deals on Presto 23 qt canners? There are a few used offerings on eBay right now with cheap shipping. For newbs that are ready to level up or OGs that are still running old warped canners. If you’re buying used it would be a good idea to inspect/replace seals before use.

Listen, pal...I've got an IQ of about 48 and keep extra underwear in my truck at all times, alright? I mist my shit with some Dollar General garbage all day everyday. I deliberately dry out my tubs just so I can watch them rehydrate when I mist, ya feel me? I love it...it just tickles something that I can't reach otherwise.

If I can figure it out, you can too. Aint nobody needs a whole ass persuasive essay with data points n shit on howta mist their tubs. Just spray and pray, my guy. You'll get there.πŸ€™

Imagine that you're at the pick-up spot for your kid's bougie pre-school. You didn't really want to go with this option, but your partner insisted. But of course they're "busy with work" at pick-up time, and let's not even get into how they decided to be "busy with work" ever since you collectively decided to keep this thing.

Anyway, there you are, trying not to get distracted by the milfs and/or dilfs showing off their gym bods, thinking about how a 5-year-old is pretty much already set on their trajectory, and the lead poisoning or incorrect swaddling blanket or poor choice of toddler youtube videos have already done their damage, when you overhear the same old conversation playing out.

"Well, I like to make my kid run around in circles in the yard, then force-feed them fruit roll-ups. It says right here in RFK Jr.'s guide to early childhood that this is the best way to stimulate your child's immune system."

"Nah, that's ridiculous, I feed my kids when they say they're hungry."

"Nah, that's how you end up with a diabetic, unless you provide proper exercise..."

"Well, MY kid either does pilates or aikido or ballet every night of the week..."

All that spandex and all that bluster.

And you're just too embarrassed to admit that you'll be stopping off at 7-11 wirh your kid on the way home, ostensibly to get chili dogs, but REALLY because you need a pack of menthols...
