Are they decent quality?



They are OK. I've used about 1/3 of the box so far. They weren't packed with a bunch of padding, so a few of the stacks had a couple broken plates in them from rough handling, mostly on the corners of the box. Other random plates had some minor cracking but were still usable. I don't really care about saving the $20 extra, so I'll probably go for the same-size box of celltreats next time, which seem a bit better quality, but if I was trying to save I'd definitely buy the microppose again. Even if 20 out of 500 plates are cracked or broken it's still a good price.

I really started using them while I had a hand trimmer and the fact that the top was attached by a little nibbon thing made it easier for me and now I'm just used to it.

I have a confession to make. My 1st time using a pressure canner a week ago, I screwed up. I had the heat way too high and boiled off damn near all of the water. In doing so, I cracked 3 grain jars. The remaining 4 didnt crack but I suspect I may have dried the grain out some. The jars are colonizing but the grain appears to be kinda dry. Could I squirt some sterilized water into the jars to hydrate a little or leave them alone? They are about 15&-20% colonized.

Ooof I did the same thing with my first canner. Make sure you check that the bottom is still flat. Mine bowed out and now I use it to prep coir in :lol:

I'm of the opinion you shouldn't go adding anything if it's already colonizing. Just increasing the risk of contamination

The canner is ok. I caught it just in time. Used it for some agar plates a couple of times since then.

Yes and no.
Yes if that air is drying your conditions out then it's bad , if you retain that 95+ percent humidity that's ok lol
