Oh, damn! I can see how you were probably having some issues when stopping. That’s probably true of a lot of things. Sugar, caffeine, etc. I tried to quit caffeine and got the sweats, headaches, jitters, and even heart palpitations. Finally decided just to cut down instead. lol.

Squirted some APE liquid culture onto agar... Does this look like mycelium? So fluff and no ropey...

I have a 16-quart Presto that’s leaking a small amount of steam near the lower handle. I cleaned it thoroughly, replaced the gasket with a new one, and lubricated the gasket as recommended, but the leak is still there. The canner holds pressure with no problem, but I’m wondering what could cause this?

Do you have a picture?
If there's a leak, I would abandon it. Especially after you replaced the gasket and it still does it. Don't want that thing going off.

I wonder if you could put some food coloring in the water and get it up to pressure to try and mark any cracks that may be around that handle.

If that is the case, time for a new one.

I use a UV flashlight to find hydraulic leaks for my job. If you could put something like the fluid found in glow sticks in it and shine a blacklight on it, you'll know right where the leak is coming from.

The LC I used for my 1st batch of brf cakes produced picturesque myc. My 2nd batch is a different LC and only producing white fluffy blobs. I wish I would have taken pics of the first one.

If you think that's where the leak is coming from, pull that screw out and see if there is a seal in there.

How hot can you pour agar without any issues?

I follow Bods tek for agar where he says to wait for 117 or so. I usually just pour at 120 but I’m running out of time for a window to pour the agar. I guess I could just come back and microwave the agar to get it back up to temp. I don’t have to PC it again right if I’m just warming it up in the microwave with the cap on?

Correct. The only problem that comes with pouring agar too hot is condensation
