What is the purpose of using distilled water for mycelium culture storage (vs tap water) and can deionised water serve the same function?

I've also heard "zaps" i think they are called are great too. Anybody have any experience with zaps and semps or any other type of species in growing them and their potency?

My Tube #3 is growing gigantic mutants!!!
One is already as big as a dog's dick, and the pins look like they are about to become just as big too.

Why is that?

Is it a flush past first? Those tend to grow larger fruit. Could be solid biological efficiency. Random mutation... weird size comparison though :lol:

It is the very first flush from this tube.
All the other tubes produced small, thin, and lanky mushrooms.
Only this one has these dog's dick size ones growing in it.

It think this is a species in the Agaricus genus. Check Agaricus pocillator.
