I decided to stop using parafilm and start using saran wrap to wrap the petri dishes after pouring, and use grafting tape after the inoculate agar.

How many wraps around the petri dish should I do with the grafting tape?

At least two wraps + ... it doesn't stick well unless it's stretched.

After pouring I just slip the cover sleeve back over.. it helps to use 1 or 2 right away to give way for closure. I've used a rubber band after twisting the end , as well as spring(folder) clips, most recently I've been twisting and melting the end with the torch.

Fuck wrapping more than is necessary since most will already be wrapped at least twice (I don't use the whole plate for a2g).

i would say try following the design provided in the tek and make adjustments based on your observations. a 16qt container requires much less fae than a 66qt tub. in that tek, the tub has 16 holes. you do not need one hole per qt in your tub.

edit, the size of the holes would matter too of course, but all in all you're better just drilling a few small holes and/or leaving the lid slightly loose. observe and adjust.

My pressure cooker is just shy of tall enough, so i lay my media bottle 45ish degrees on another jar. Question is, is it ok that thr bottom of the media jar is touching the side of the pressure cooker? Everything is on a raised rack ofc

Noob here, doing PF tek for the first time, fruiting in water tub. How are these cakes looking? I've got pins and fruits, but not sure if everything looks good or not.


Also, what's with the big guy on the left? Weird mutation, or something else? Is it (and the others) safe to consume?

No you were perfectly clear.
And it's not written in stone that you must rate after receiving anything only or if was reciprocated.

But more about appreciating that which was said was going to happen, came to be.

Ppl keeping their word, more or less. Which is why I usually always have back-ups of things I offer, in case the postal services drops the ball.

I've been trying to learn to recognize contams, and while that is coming along I realized that just recognizing isn't enough and have no idea what contam actually does to shrooms, and more importantly what it does to humans. 

Is there a contam that will infect fruit with toxins making it dangerous for humans? 
Or do we just care about contams because it stops a second flush and decreases yield? 

If there is a dangerous for humans one, which ones are those?   
For what contams should I immediately discard a tub, and for which ones can I risk trying to get a flush out of it? (possibly using Beefs new punishing trick)
