The tenacity with which the neurotic adheres to any attitude is a sure indication that the attitude fulfills functions which seem indispensable in the framework of his neurosis.

That's funny.  I was trying to explain that concept to a neurotic just last night.  I know what the function is that their attitude serves but she couldn't hear me

Socialism is the opposite of Fascism in every way except one.  They both lead straight to absolutism and Tyranny.  But tyranny by whom?

Cruel and oppressive rule is essentially now the medical profession. Psychiatrists, bankers, shareholders and police all form the arm of the therapeutic state. Get caught being depressed and unmotivated at work, or worse, angry and lively, and they will harass you to take pills and antipsychotic injections for the rest of your life. It is Aldous Huxleys vision of a brave new world, a world where people will take each others liberties through tranquilizers and antipsychotics and anti depressants. Once sufficiently drugged, you can be warehoused, shelved, silenced, put out of harms way.  Harms way of course is any place where there is colonial possession by big bankers and police.  Beautiful houses along side of a lake will have a dangerous undercurrent sweeping out and driving away anyone who dares to try to live there who does not make enough money to pay for taxes and monthly and annual fees. Peoples garbage will be monitored and tracked.

The word "exterminate" comes from the Latin word exterminare, which is a combination of the prefix ex- ("out of" or "outside") and terminus ("boundary"). The original meaning of "exterminate" was to banish or drive away something. Over time, the word came to mean to destroy or put an end to something.

Police and ambulances will escort dissidents to hospitals where they will gradually be brainwashed to accept their illness and fall into line.

“This was the beginning of surveillance capitalism, and the end of the Internet as I knew it. Now, it was the creative Web that collapsed, as countless beautiful, difficult, individualistic websites were shattered. The promise of convenience led people to exchange their personal sites—which demanded constant and laborious upkeep—for a Facebook page and a Gmail account. The appearance of ownership was easy to mistake for the reality of it. Few of us understood it at the time, but none of the things that we’d go on to share would belong to us anymore. The successors to the e-commerce companies that had failed because they couldn’t find anything we were interested in buying now had a new product to sell. That new product was Us.”
― Edward Snowden, Permanent Record

”We make the east germany stasi state look like the boy scouts, and if we do not wrest back this power for our privacy, for our power to investigate what our power lead is doing, we can essentially say our democracy has been snuffed out.”  - Chris Hedges

A lot of people understood.  Still understand.  It's just that all democratic political systems are nothing more than popularity contests and filled with corruption to the core because the rich are nothing more than hierarchy people who desire power.  Read The Fourth Turning, https://www.amazon.com/Fourth-Turning-American-Prophecy-Rendezvous/dp/0767900464

This society is fucked already and the US is dragging the world behind it's stern.

“The man of virtuous soul commands not, nor obeys” is a line from the poem Queen Mab by Percy Bysshe Shelley:

The full quote from the poem is:

The man of virtuous soul commands not, nor obeys. Power, like a desolating pestilence, pollutes whate'er it touches; and obedience, bane of all genius, virtue, freedom, truth, makes slaves of men, and of the human frame a mechanized automaton

Punishment is now unfashionable because it creates moral distinctions among men, which, to the democratic mind, are odious. We prefer a meaningless collective guilt to a meaningful individual responsibility.

"If he who breaks the law is not punished, he who obeys it is cheated. This, and this alone, is why lawbreakers ought to be punished: to authenticate as good, and to encourage as useful, law-abiding behavior. The aim of criminal law cannot be correction or deterrence; it can only be the maintenance of the legal order."
Thomas Szasz

The Nazis spoke of having a "Jewish problem". We now speak of having a drug-abuse problem. Actually, "Jewish problem" was the name the Germans gave to their persecution of the Jews; "drug-abuse problem" is the name we give to the persecution of people who use certain drugs.
— Szasz in The Second Sin (1973)

According to Szasz, drug addiction is not a "disease" to be cured through legal drugs but a social habit. Szasz also argued in favor of a free market for drugs. He criticized the war on drugs, arguing that using drugs is in fact a victimless crime. Prohibition itself constituted the crime. He argued that the war on drugs leads states to do things that would have never been considered half a century before, such as prohibiting a person from ingesting certain substances or interfering in other countries to impede the production of certain plants, e.g. coca eradication plans, or the campaigns against opium; both are traditional plants opposed by the Western world. Although Szasz was skeptical about the merits of psychotropic medications, he favored the repeal of drug prohibition.

* Taking drugs yes, but also people who take it are 100 % responsible for the actions they do when under the influence of drugs.

When you reach 18 you can do all kinds of things which have tremendously harmful consequences on society. The most harmful thing someone can can do is produce a child that he or she is not prepared to take care of. It is far more harmful than smoking marijuana, on other people. - Thomas Szasz

“An intelligent person may understand the logic of a bandit. The bandit’s actions follow a pattern of rationality: nasty rationality, if you like, but still rationality. You can foresee a bandit’s actions, his nasty maneuvers, and ugly aspirations, and often can build up your defenses. A stupid creature will harass you for no reason, for no advantage, without any plan or scheme and at the most improbable times and places. You have no rational way of telling if and when and how and why the stupid creature attacks. When confronted with a stupid individual you are completely at his mercy. The fact that the activity and movements of a stupid creature are absolutely erratic and irrational not only makes defense problematic but it also makes any counterattack extremely difficult—like trying to shoot at an object that is capable of the most improbable and unimaginable movements.”

“Life, as we find it, is too hard for us; it brings us too many pains, disappointments and impossible tasks. In order to bear it we cannot dispense with palliative measures... There are perhaps three such measures: powerful deflections, which cause us to make light of our misery; substitutive satisfactions, which diminish it; and intoxicating substances, which make us insensible to it.”

True strength is deeply rooted in the ability to embrace life in its entirety and to act with self affirmation, striving for excellence and authenticity.

Strength is generative and not destructive and critical reflection is a necessity of the strong, because struggles are merely opportunities for growth and development.

~ Nietzche
