I got a swab of x7x+ today, (thanks to sender) so why not join. I'm a noob and will probably fall on my ass, but that could be entertaining right? I'm in:rockon:

01.01.25.

Aaaand we're off! I poured plates a couple of weeks ago and set my self up for an easy start, problem is, I forgot that I don't do easy.. So I thought hey both ESS, Toque F8 and Pioppino plates look good, let's boil, dry and pc som oats. I have hard water(dH 9) and a pretty high pH(7,9) so I used phosphoric acid to get it to 6, well except I am always trying to do way to many things at once and ended up with to much phosphoric acid. :facepalm3:

Oats tossed in the forest(outside my door) and weigh out new batch, got it right the second time, not bad considering it's me...:biggrin: While oats where drying I had time to get rid of some snow, ah yes the last 20 hours we got 30cm(12 inch) of snow and I have a semi big driveway.

Got the kids dressed and did the thing.


Back inside, load some jars, eat some dinner, shower some kids, take jars out of pc, get kids ready for bed, read and sing(poor kids), and then..... finally they sleep.

Load SAB and do; 3xA2G, 5xA2CV(cryo vials) 2xA2A and of course, the only ting I HAD to do today, 2xS2A(x7x+), but no, I'm still me so why not also do 2xS2A(TWxPE6), so now I have doubled my chances of failure. :rofl:

Not a lot to report, but got enough growth to do transfers, did three of both x7x+ and TWxPE6, it went pretty smooth, maybe I am getting the hang of agar :strokebeard:

New day, new transfers and new update. Not to much happening, just some T1's to T2's.

24.01.25.

A couple of things where done today. The first was pouring 30 plates, I'll leave them in the SAB a day or two before I wrap them.


Then TWxPE6 T2 to T3's.


I though one of the x7x+ T1's looked pretty good, so I thought fuck it, I did two T2's from it and then I sent to grain. Several reasons for that. I just got a bag of wheat and I need to practice grain prep as I've only done Oats before. Second I am using small 350ml jars to see if I can see any difference with modded and unmodded lids, and lastly, well, I needed to do something else then agar :lol:

Now don't you worry about that 4 o'clock, that is just my agar mountains because my agar was starting to solidify at the end of that pour :biggrin:

Aaahh yes, a couple of those jars will be real fun to break&shake for sure, but how was I suppose to know that wheat expands that much while cooling over night? It will be fine... Right? That's it for today folks.

05.02.2025

Still not much happening. Did more transfer two days ago, I am still not 100% happy with my plates of x7x+ and TWxPE6. I was going to do cabin sequestering for these T3's and T4's, but my lab "dealer" took they're sweet ass time sending my order so here we are, doing transfers just so they don't outgrow they're current home.. :muppet:

Well my order is on it's way and should arrive in a day or two. After reading MycCycle's journal I decided to not use agar as cabin roof, not going to get in to that here, but it just makes more sense to me and so I ordered different sized slides and will be using them when doing cabin sequestering, while we wait for that, some pictures.

So a couple of things was done today, I finally got TWxPE6 to grains, only one jar as I don't trust my plate even tho it looked good to me..Ah well guess I'll find out soon enough:lol:


Next is the x7x+ jars, I'm a little late, but I'll spawn to bulk tomorrow. Had to get more mini mono's and well, better to wait a couple of days more then less, but they want out :lol:


Now this last thing is new to me, but exited to see how it will turn out, cabin sequestering with a glass roof.

Pulled the second x7x+ tub today. Got  better :yields: on this :rofl:




Gave it the punysher tek(my light version of Beef's punisher tek) and floating lotus. I chickened out on flippin it(sorry Nektar61), it just looked to pretty around the edges and bottom, but I will try it with one of the other two, promise :awesomenod:

Well, harvested the first flush of TWxPE6, my best canopy for sure.


But uhh, they are like 4cm, now of course, I still get penis envy, but this is not okay :rofl:




Still a decent first flush 455g wet. I put the cake back in the tub, a thin layer of new coir and a good mist, hope to get some bigger fruits to print :wow:

I won't be able to send any spores before after new years eve, but I'm in. I've got a few GH prints I can send, they've proven themselves as the peak of beginners luck for me personally :laugh:.

I'm going to continue the line I worked with in lagm 2024.
It's a nat/orchra x tidal wave cross that I back crossed with Jack Frost. Slowly stabilizing a line that looks like albino Nats.Upcoming round is the F3's.

Been calling the project Nat3, but now we have all that new name fuckery going on with Nats... I've been calling the first one White Witch.

I’ll play. Will be doing:

1 - azures
2 - natals
3 - morels
4 - reishi

1-1-25

Did two plates each from spores for the morels and reishi. I did three for Azures. For the Natals I wasn’t happy with how the first two went, so did four total.  For half of each type I did the streak method, for the other half a single drop in the center.

5-1-25

Super early germination on two Natal plates. Ironically they are the ones I didn’t like as I put too much onto each of them. Spot on both is so small it’s not worth the picture but will post as they grow. Morel also has some growth, but I think it’s no good. Very light and whispy with little color.

Fuck, I’ll join up too.
Can’t promise I’ll be around a lot but, maybe this will motivate me to crack open my print library and finally do some other projects I’ve been mulling over.

So, my LAGM ’25 contributions will be:

- Ps. ovoidiocystidiata
- G. subspectibilis (my first love)
-Ghost
-Leucoagaricus americanus (tbh it’s a t1 atm, from a cloned wild fruit)

It might be a bit lofty of me but I’ll do my best 😁


Update 1/1-
Gymn subs, Ghost, and Oviod spores ready to go to agar, cracking open the L. Americanus to xfer and pouring some extra plates today for the upcoming weeks.
As well as the ochraceo and Rusty Whytes I have a bunch of Zap T3 that will be going to grain at some point… I say I’ve got my hands full😁



1/15-after nothing but contam, finally a ghost swab decided to come out and play..

Pretty sure I’ve gotten duped and I think I need to change my agar recipe haha. Been running Milkboys pda and it’s been good to me for the most part.
But I’m seeing a trend that I think needs to be addressed.

So for some context:
This is an ochraceocentrata wedge that I received, you can see how the mycelium didn’t start to look fuzzy and white until it grew out substantially. I thought because it was no pour and super soft..


Initially, it looked just like these, which are crimini clones taken from the sterile inner stipe tissue a few weeks ago. You can see the typical form of mycelial growth.



And now, all the “contam” that my lagm plates have showed me..







Now, I typically simmer my agar to help incorporate all the dry ingredients before pc’ing.
Which I didn’t with this batch.
There were still chunks of unincorporated dry material visible.
Maybe it was too soft as well?

Gonna make some xfers with a new batch and see what happens.

I’m in. I’ll be going short and long. Pans and piopino will be quick, and gyms and shiitake will be in it for the long haul. Maybe I’ll throw in a few other gourmets if I collect spores. We’ll see how it goes.

I’ll put some spores to agar today. Actives only as my gourmets are not dropping spores yet. As soon as they do I’ll grab prints and start fresh.



Pan cyan TTBVI and Wild Coast, along with a couple of plates of Gymnopolis purpuratus. I love those Gym spores!

Eating the pioppinos now, but plucked this one yesterday to get spores.



Today they will go to agar. Super fresh spores!

Shiitake and pioppino ready to transfer. Had to pour plates, so will wait until tomorrow.

No pics ‘cause lazy.

Took T-1’s of shiitake and pioppino. T-2’s of TTBVI and Gym purpuratus. Also sent wedges of gyms to Muda bottles of grain, HWFPs, & wood chips. We’ll see how those work out.

Also hedging my bets and put some Nec D, TTBVI, and Suphanburi spores to plates. Oh and semperviva, my favorite!

2/5 - I’ve been slacking, and the cold weather has been slowing everything down.



Sempervivas germinated nicely. Took a couple of wedges.



Gym myc looks so fine. Hope it’s actually mushroom myc. Two wedges to hydrated fuel pellets/wood chips/grain jars. Muda is my muse. RIP.



Shiitake wedges to HWFP/grain jars.



Pioppino to Muda bottle.



TTBVI to jars of coir/horse manure/straw/grain.


2/11 Update

Made some T-1 plates from new germination of some pans.

I hate that this starts Jan 1, just in time for mold season. I’m having some issues, but here’s the good news.

I put Semperviva myc to grain.

I put two gymnopilus jars into the fruiting chamber.

I put one pioppino jar into the fruiting chamber.

My shiitake jars are starting to popcorn. Well as much as they can inside the glass.





Update 4/23

Few results for reasons, but my pioppino jar spit out a few fruits. Not in it’s favored environment. My tent is out of commision, so I fruited them in my Pan tub. Too wet, but I got fruits!

This is a great excuse to reboot and refresh. I'm in!

I'll be growing a tamp, a cube and a wood lover.

My tampanensis will be ATL7. From my own print.


My cube will be Vader(Playa Uvita X GT). From my own print

My wood lover will be IWL. Print from tweeqs grow-along.

Pouring 42 new plates in preparation for the new grows.



I dry heat sterilize my petris for 60 min at 350f. I use upside-down tea tins for sterilization and plate storage. I put a desiccant pack in the can to help with condensation.

Update -1.1.2025-


Here we go!



I used sterile swabs to make three germ plates of each flavor.
I moistened the swabs with condensation from the plate lids before collecting spores.
I (clumsily) streaked two of the plates and sliced off a petal for the third.

Update -6.1.2025-


I have germination on all three IWL plates, made t1s this morning.



I have some action on the Vader plates but I'm gonna give em another day or so to see if it's friend or foe. 😂

Nothing on the tamp plates yet, those are from an old print. I'm going to start another round with this fresh spore print I just made.



Update -7.1.25-

Streaked some new germ plates from the new tamp(ATL7) print.



The Vader plates also have some germination.
I took a few t1s.

Vader T1s have grown out, took T2s today.

I haven't seen any germination from the tamps yet. so I'm taking some fresh swabs directly to agar this time.



Trying these Nasopharyngeal swabs. They work well, pick up and release spores efficiently. They are plastic/nylon, I prefer using degradable materials.

The Vader T2s are looking promising, Prepped some grain for them today.



I think I see germination on the newest tamp T0 plates.

I inoculated a few pints of sorghum from the Vader T1 plates. Looking mostly ok so far.

I also took some T3s of the Vader and sent a few of the T2 plates to grain.

The Vader T1s on grain aren't perfect but I'ma send 'em.







Some will hang out with the Florida cousins (tamps) in the water tubs.





Some will be in ziplocks.

The tubs spawned with Vader T1s are colonizing.







The next round of Vader using the T2s are recovering from the first shake.



I got some tamps on grain as well.

Late start for me, but I put these on sorghum agar today.
They look better than the pics- there’s some condensation and a lump in one plate, these were the only plates that I had left. (I thought I had more)
I made new plates today to be ready for next week.

I have all of these already going on agar or on grain currently, so this is also an insurance policy if any of those don’t work out.

ok, got it done :thumbup: two plates each spores to agar, subtropicalis (from Milkboy, many thanks) and Golden Hawk (from MycCycle, many thanks).  Prints are months old, and I've used the subtrops one a couple times already, so not ideal, but hey. Process was a drop of sterile water (IP'd water filled syringe in foil) in each plate before scraping a print with loop and dragging zig zag from water drop, flaming loop between scrapes.

both semp plates show bacteria , tossing. nothing on the golden hawks yet.

starting over with more semp plates asap.

Started again with three semp plates, and three Tidal Wave plates for good measure.

put bisporus on grain. used the t1 plates. transferred some Tidal Wave to t3. cooking agar now, pouring plates soon.

lost a jar of bisporus, three others look good.

been fussing over plates, trying to get perfect, photogenic plates, but today I was like, these are clean, put some stuff on grain. so put everything on grain, lol. clean semp after a puck transfer, then Hawk, Tidal Wave, and Mak TP t1's and t2's, looked clean enough!

All jars looking good (except maybe the bisporus, still unsure) Adding ACC, toque f8, restarting some nats (ochreceocentrata)

spawned my first jar, made a small Tidal Wave 8 cup tub with takeout chicken box lid.

ACC t1s looking good, ochres germinating, toque not, will try on pucks soon.

Lots more jars to do now. Hydrating coco coir. :rockon:

spawned bisporus, couple tubs of cubes. made pucks, put a toque swab on one trying to germinate. ACC t3 from baccy plates. t1s of ochres. stuff's moving!

April 1

tubs coming along, but no pins yet, not even primordia in any of them. bispo looking good but eating up a second casing :shrug: Toque germination, awesome. ACC looking good, will put to grain soon. Ochre plates need transfers, but coming. Semp jars ready to spawn. Lots of action but no fruits yet. Patience.

Got my bisporus after casing three times, probably unnecessarily. Praise be!

Completed three flushes of Hawk, Tidal Wave and Paneolus bisporus. Semps still coming along. Mak tp is not doing well, contamed tub looks like. So, a pause to collect myself, and next up, Ochras, Toque, rerun the Mak and hope one day I see subtropicalis!

Semps is another story. Nothing from a 2 1/2 month old shoebox, so hopes pretty much faded. That'll be the next grow, once I'm done with these.

Good morning all, I hope you all had a happy and safe NYE. Last night spores hit agar. I have Makilla swabs that I think are no older than a year, and an Ecuador print from 2020. Crazy how time flies.



Anyhow I used the Makilla swabs in this order: Streak plate in a zigzag pattern, rotate ~90* and streak again. I did that with 2 plates. Then I simply broke the swab head off and used a pair of flame sterilized tweezers to push the head into a third plate. Fingers crossed. Maybe in the future I will do the petal method.



With the Ecuador print I broke out the classic paperclip loop. I flamed it, cooled it down in a sacrificial cooling plate (this also coats the loop in some agar for the spores to stick too, for better or worse :shrug:), scraped a small section of the print, and then dunked that into the middle of a receiving plate. I did that to two plates. I also took two plates where I streaked the loop across the surface of the agar like I did the with the swab mentioned above.



Again, these spores are from 2020 so we will see what happens.

Just a text update. Both of the Makilla streak plates are showing the smallest amount of germination. Sadly, one of them also has a mold/non-myc growth right on the edge of the plate. That is okay, that is why we make extras! Nothing yet on the Ecuador plates.

What is up guys, I have been really busy lately but was able to get some cult work done.
Makilla T1's have been taken. I took two hole punch transfers off the swab plate. On the streak plate I made a single hole punch transfer plate, a double hole punch transfer plate, and a good old scalpel transfer plate because why not. Sadly when I was wrapping the single hole punch plate the transfer rolled off the center and  on to the edge. oh well, It will still grow out.

It looks as if the very beginning of some growth is appearing on half of the Ecuador plates. Nothing substantial enough to transfer at this point.

Just a text update today. I may add some pics later, we will see. Makilla T1's are growing out but I think I will need to go to T3 to get what I am looking for. I made a bunch of Ecuador T1's. They look like they are doing well. Just a waiting game now. More media bottles coming in soon so I might try my hand at LC.

Transfers today, I am fairly confident that the T2's I made will be going to grain and or LC. Some of you all have already hit grain thus far, which is lighting a fire underneath me. A lot of my plates and grain grow slow due to the temps ~65F. Looking at the Ecuador T1 plates, they look pretty good, they could just could use some uniformity. I took a variety of different transfers, three per receiving plate, and some trench plates. I also when back to my T0 Makilla plate and took apiece I liked the look of. Lots of plates, but that might be the cost to find a strong culture.

I made some LC today.
Ecuador T2. This trenching didn't end up seeming necessary. I took from 9 o`clock.













Makilla T2, I pulled from the circle on the right around 7 o`clock. This plate was uniform but not rooey like the T2 I posted yesterday. We will see wha happens. :rockon::rockon:

Put spores to agar as the clock struck 12, I might do a second batch as I was a lil fucked up and my sterile technique was probably not on point :rolleyes: A pretty good start to the year anyways :P

Finally got around to T1 transfers, my plates germinated about a week and a half ago >_< there was much less contams than I expected for the state I was in when I innocculated lol. Pic of one  of the plates after transfers as Im not trusting my phone to be clean for process pics
