So i've decided to grow mushrooms =)

So i have decided to grow mushrooms. I have studied your FAQ's. And as of now i have decided to take PF tek's "simple minds" method that i have read. And will be using cakes. Now the only problem i have is spores. I have currently been looking at venders. But they do not give spec's on there spores. Now i know all of you have praobly order'ed from these places. Now this is my first to time, so i would like to use a spore that isnt very expensive, and can take a beating(as being my first time) I am willing to spend up to $50 on spores. And was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. Looking for speed, and quality. In the future i plan to expan my methods and use advanced tech's, but as for now i just want to stay simple. Now about the spores, is there any place that will ship fast, and a quality product? If someone could help me out, it would be greatly appericated =) Thanks

Thank you both very much for the info, very fast too. Also do they come with needles, or do i have to purchace these on my own? And is any strain different from another as far as effects, not nesserly potence of it. But i guess you get what i mean =\

for 50 bux you can get a whole lotta syringes... like 6... most places give ya some free if ya buy a few...

Cool, im trying to do maybe around 10-15 jars my first time around. I am going supply hunting tommorow. I am still checking out the different types of spores. Is it wise to mix and match? Cause if i can get 6 syringes with $50 i would be intrested in maybe growing an assortment of different types. I will probably be ordering them tommorow so if anyone knows, or cares to help out i will take you info on it. But thanks a lot for all the help, i will keep you all updated on my experement =)

You should probably stick to one strain as you start out and get a grasp of growing. Once you have had a couple fruitings, and have perfected your techinque, then I would try some other strains.

I was thinking od order'ing Monster B+ from sporelab. Anything else i might need as of needles? syrings? etc?

spore syringes come with needles and you will not need anything else

most everything else is listed in the pages of the tek you have chosen. if i were you i would research different strains and make your decision based on your results. reading will tell you whether or not a strain is a fast colonizer or not.

Thanks i have research on the B+. Seems like a good choice. And i will be using the 1/2 pint cakes as it stated is used to get the best results. But it also stated that it tends to grow fairly large and falls over? Would this be a problem, or will i be able to train them to stand up right? Also read that it has a fierce reputation as being the most potent. So i think this will be my spore of choice. Once again i couldnt have done it without everyones help. Thanks =)

I did Cambodians my first time and they take forever. This time I decided to try the Ecuador and Golden Teachers. I certainly hope they are faster. Good luck on your B+'s. Let us know how they do for you. Oh one more thing about Cambodians. I ended up doing about 15 grams fresh and didn't get off very good.

Well hopefully these B+'s will be good for a first time. For i will experment with different strains after these are done. Looked up those cambod's they really didnt get an over excited review. Maybe ill be able to try them soon. I will probably be keeping a photo essay of my grow once i can find a program to inport my pics from my digi cam, cept the one that came with it, cause i lost it while moving. But thanks for the advice 1nce again =)

SporeLab is located in Canada.. Dunno if they ship to the states.. even if they did I would eel much more comfortable ordering from a place within the country you live in. Might be trouble going across the border..

Sporelab is great though.. I live in Canada and buy all my syringes from them.

well, to learn about the different species, hawkeye's a great place to read up, and ralphsters new site has some good info too. not saying ya got to buy your spores there, but they got good descriptions
