I know that in Canada (should be similar elsewere) you have to get your research approuved by the goverment ( Health Canada I belived )... But groing them then trying them on you self probable does not cound as real research ( too bad )... with a good cover you mith be able to pull it off but why??? the chances of getting cauth are so slim i dont think it's worth the touble...

Well for research you have to get a liscense from the DEA that basically asserts that you will not be ingesting any psylocybe or psilocin (sp?) that you produce, and what your experimental peramiters are. THey come into your lab and check what is going on, bookkeeping, shit like that. It is not worth trying unless you can figure out how to get the DEA to get off their ass and admit that some of these drugs are useful. It is a catch-22 because they believe the drugs are bad and need no more research, so it takes a lot to get them to let you do research. Remeber shrooms contain schedule 1 chemicals, so it is very illegal to grow them, but someone refered to the amateur shroom cultivator as the 1,000 points of light in the drug war. Shroom cultivators are fairly benign so the DEA doesn't fuck with them too much, unless you get greedy... I hope this helps answer your question, buying an island is probably more economical and easier...---Gdog

Actually, I came very close to obtaining a DEA permit last semester at my college. We were going to try and find out why Azures resist indoor cultivation. Fell through due to time. Going to try and pull it together for next fall... it isn't really that hard, especially when your proffesor obtained is Phd at Harvard.Hoth out

Good luck! Those are not the kind of pemits that are handed out to just anyone. In fact, the only person I know to have gotten one is Steve Peele. Let us know if you get anywhere's! ------------------ Visit the Spore Lab at: http://sporelab.webjump.com It's a trip you'll never forget!

To add to this old post of mine, The dea has approved studies on psylocybin for obsessive compulsive disorder. I don't really get this because most obsessive compulsives I know were made that way by cocaine. And most cocaine users I know will eat mushrooms in a nasty addictive nature.
