I have a question... Maybe it's just me and my wife, but when we trip it feels like we have to piss every fifteen minutes. Is there anything that can mitigate that during the trip? Or is it just me?

A diuretic an hour or two before tripping may help.

I like going into a trip with empty bowels and bladder. Took a shit once during a 4 gram peak and I don’t want to relive those sensations ever again :blush:

Someone already told you that streaking with an inoculation loop is a better idea than just squirting some spores onto a plate and I agree. I've tried both ways and streaking worked far better for me.

What I really want to add though is that I had some fairly annoying bacterial issues when I went from MSS to agar. I eventually got everything cleaned up using Josex' Poke but if I'm ever using another MS syringe (though I think I'm done with them), I'm going MSS -> BRF puck -> agar, so I avoid any potential bac issues.

You can. Or you can leave them. People say they'll rot, but mine just always revert to mycelium. A lot of the times new mushrooms will grow off the old aborts. And stumps are good for absorbing moisture!

You actually can see if it's all steam coming out and you can kind of hear it as well.

I turn my main kitchen light on and no range light. I can see the shadow of the steam on the wall behind the stove. I can see it from a few feet away. I can watch thee shadow come and go as it gets close and the after the last few spurts of air the shadow is steady.

You can also see the steam but using the light and shadow is easier for me

Read the HHG. A lot of important info is in there including a proper way to streak a plate with spores or LC.


When the steam becomes liquid again because of the colder air outside of your PC, you can see it. I doubt if humans can really hear the difference between air and steam, but even if that’s possible, the real problem is that you won’t really know whether the air is already gone. Not by looking at the condensation and not by listening to it.

The amount of condensation is a little concerning. It is a little foamy on top and although fully colonized there are a couple bald spots.

I can't tell if there are grey/green spots or if it's bruising or reflections.

I would send it. I'm sure you'll get at least a first flush. The myc might even wipe out any contam once it hits bulk sub and air.

Cool thanks for the advice. I was worried about the condensation as well. I've got a mini inflatable monotub (about 44qt) and I've got a bunch of shoe boxes.  I'm sure it's probably personal preference. But I could have higher chance of success rate if I break it up into shoe boxes as opposed to Throwing It All in One tub right?

Cubensis mycelium won't wipe shit out, that's just false info.

Getting a flush is not related to the mycelium winning some mythological fight against evil.

Contaminated is contaminated.

I know it's going to be impossible to tell until I actually get into the bag. but what do you think?  do you see any obvious signs of contamination in that bag?

Quick question here. Do I need to worry about storing my liquid culture syringes in my house hold food refrigerator? Can my groceries and my syringes share the same space? To be clear I cleaned and emptied one of the vegetable drawers then place my syringes in a ziplock bag and then they go in the drawer with nothing else in it. But the rest of my food and drinks are on the shelves above and under the drawer. Is this a problem? Im i running the risk of cross-contamination?

As long as it doesn't get too cold it should be fine.  Technically I don't think it's a necessity that they be refrigerated .

One more quick question. I've got a lot going on here:crazy: sorry for all the back-to-back questions hopefully I'm not annoying anybody.(also trying to reach 50 posts)

Getting ready to finally test the viability of my lc on some agar.

I've never done it before.no experience at all.  And i Don't have any inoculation Loops or cell spreaders.

I plan on using my LC syringe.

Any tips???

Do I just put a couple drops? Do I squirt a small amount in a z or zigzag pattern? Then what?

I'm only looking for advice on the actual inoculation step of this process and what follows.  I've already been advised on everything up to this point.

You can make one, i think Nichrome has a contest thread on this.

two drops is a lot of water on a plate Just drop and rotate the plate around to spread. Or what D said , tho i have no experience in this. Both of these are not ideal, but doable.

2nd pic- top middle seems not to be colonizing???
Last pic- Left side about an inch down the grain looks little off might just be shadow though.

It looks decent enough (what I can see) to get some fruits from.

Maybe just case it as is if you're worried, or break it up to see of recovers quickly. Also a low sub ratio if questionable spawn.

When you say case it as is, if I'm worried. are  You saying  throw some coir on top in the bag and let it top fruit?

That little spot on the second pic top middle is just what's left to colonize  that was the growth pattern( what kind of crept up from the bottom and all sides making that spot and then it started getting smaller and smaller. a day ago it was about the size of a quarter. So I'm sure that spot will be gone by tomorrow most likely
