These are the 3rd transfer from an LC agar test? That would tell me to use the agar over the LC, or make your own LC as a result of your agar clean up IMO

Sibu plin that appeared overnight on another plate, it spore dumped on the new plate post transfer and I though it was really interesting how it germinated

Plate 2 looks good to me, plate 1 seems suspicious but it’s more a feeling in my balls rather than a tangible detail I’m observing. Wait for more input obviously

Where would you guys take a transfer on these? I know for sure the first one I want to get away from that red growth on the bottom but other than that I’m not really sure what I’m looking for

On germination plates almost anywhere the mycelium is breaking away and running.

I would take 3+ transfers off each one and put 3 per plate for T1 and see what they look like.

Here are some suggestions.




I don't see any red but obviously avoid anything but white.

Most of the sectors I marked are rhizomorphic. Maybe take 1 or 2 tomentose transfers from each one as well.

Dope thank you. Just got done making the transfers now, some of the ones you pointed out had grown more and made themselves more obvious to me. Man this is probably the most enjoyable part of this process I'm not gonna lie.

A few pretty Natalensis T3 plates. Blink and these things run away on you. Had to put them in the fridge and pour some more plates this morning.

What’s your thoughts on this little breakaway section on the 12oclock…take some transfers from there?




And I completely muffed the agar pours on a heap of plates…but the rhiz is looking good on this plate - is it too late to take a transfer because of the mold?

That 12 o’clock looks prime for a transfer go for it

And as far as the mold plate, the recommended line of action would likely be to toss it. Personally I find myself interested in challenges of that nature but also it’s a pursuit of novelty/curiosity at that point rather than super practical.

Between 12 and 1 o'clock looks like a definite winner.

I like to experiment and this is a hobby so I like to have fun with it and I do stupid shit sometimes. I wouldn't open that moldy plate tho.

If you have to. Do all the other work you have to do then take your transfers off of that, cap it and toss it. Or tape it back up and see what happens. See it the myc beats the mold.

Smart move is to toss it tho.

I would make T3 plates from these "fingers" and send those plates to grain and see what you get.



Do grain to agar and save it til you run the T3 plates.  See which performs better.

I guess Ghosts don't exist :laugh:. Stupid humor. It's early for me. Still waking up.

I get that same pillowy tomentose growth from MG. I isolated a little rhyzo edge and is the slowest growing myc ever. I'm gonna grow the different ones out and see what they do but it seems the pillowy stuff is what is aggressive as mycelium at least.
