Americans are shallow. Americans are much less inclined to vote for someone if they are bald, for instance, or unattractive in general. In fact, substance doesn't even really factor much into the equation.

I bet if we looked up a list of the most common traits that get a person elected, pursuasive argument skills won't even register on that list.

I bet an AI could pick who will win an election without knowing any of their political positions, with fairly good accuracy.

In fact, I would bet an AI could figure out who you would vote for, if it knew a couple basic facts about you, in most elections.

I am perfectly well aware that you're a proud blue dog.

I am saying that an AI could predict who you would vote for in an election, such as a primary. I'm guessing you were a Clinton voter... right? Probably Obama too.. but I'm no AI.

Bernie had the charisma of a flat tire... anyone who voted for him in a primary was probably policy driven. The best people I know were all Bernie people. The best people I know on the shroomery canvassed for Bernie! :grin:

Bernie had a significant cult of personality following.  That's why people literally lost their minds when Hilldog was the nominee.  Thise people had invested so much of their personality into being "Bernie Bros" that their egos then suffered collapse when he was not chosen.  Many of those people went to Trump (who's kidding, the Trump policies and Bernie policies were very similar, populist nonsense for the most part) and those that didn't go to Trump went to "both parties are the same" disillusionment.  Ultimately I have a hard time identifying with people who would rather sit and pout like an infant, than at least creep towards their goals.
