I like the discourse.

Bottom line I think, is that this cancellation of the Florida primary might disincentivise some voters from viewing their vote as counting towards anything.

Biden is polling poorly already, and I don't think this helps..

That and it's easy for trump to twist in his favour.

People remember the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago because of the violent clash. It was also unique because the primaries were irrelevant. Hubert Humphrey didn't participate in the primaries and easily won the nomination when LBJ's delegates went to him. The two anti-war candidates Gene McCarthy and George McGovern got to split RFK's delegates.

It's in Chicago again next year. Even if Biden has it sown up expect a sideshow. Probably wont match 68 because the mayor is a black liberal hoping to maybe get a 2nd term and last time it was Dick Daily undisputed dynasty leader of the Chicago machine who told the police to shoot to kill and was named by the Kerner commission as the instigator of the violence they called a police riot. It didn't phase him and he continued on as last of the big city bosses till his death 8 years later.

If Trump is still around he wins but hopefully his convention turns into a circus one way or the other.

Idk it’s pretty common to not have a primary when the president is running for a second term. Certainly that happens more often then not.

We use to have presidential candidates in debates too, for the purpose of providing discourse and a sense of what they stand for.

Trumps hinting at what he'll do. Biden? Haven't heard a peep of what his platform or propositions will be, just that if trump wasn't running he wouldn't either..

Do you have any predictions for Trumps fate? Im sure you think he will be in prison. If so, how long, and can he still have a chance at the seat.

Id honestly rather someone fresh but Idk if there is anyone.  Not that it matters

50-50 he wins or loses. If he wins, 50-50 we become a dictatorship. If we don't, then it's just more clown show like the last time, but with extra clowns.

If he loses, he continues raging 24/7 and announces his run in 2028. But by then he's basically guaranteed to lose, after clearing the GOP field.

Generally when the president is running for a second term, his party does not hold primary debates. There might be exceptions but not any that I can think of

I don't get the dictatorship but I do agree he'd go full retard. Tho I dont think theres any chance of him clearing the GOP field but maybe reforming to become the same.

He's basically set up for a dictatorship, and he...even says he will be a dictator. Either way, I don't think that the GOP plans on giving up power ever again. They are not enthused for the demographics of the future, and they know they have maybe three more elections before they need serious reform.

Unfortunately for them, it never lasts. One thing I always found interesting was religious support for Trump, and the fact that it increases, the more often you go to church. This is a mindset thing. It's a certainty among the most religious--absolute certainty in their belief, which turns into hatred of competing beliefs. If you've ever interacted with sincere zealots, you'll recognize this. They have no concept of good-faith disagreement. If you simply say "yeah, I'm not really religious", they get angry. They don't just say "oh, that's cool". They actually treat you as if there is something wrong with your brain. Something satanic, or demonic, or whatever. In their mind, their beliefs are so obvious and self evident, your refusal to agree must be malicious.

It's a self-destructive belief, because anyone that strays from the impossibly strict standards gets cast out, and those that remain raise their standards. Trump is obviously not religious, but he understand how to use that absolute dogmatic certainty. He himself has that same certainty in himself as a way to protect his own ego. In his own mind, he is never at fault. He is always a victim of circumstance. The worse things get, the more evil the circumstances. It goes from bad weather to "they're coming after me".

So it won't last. But I do absolutely think that Trump will do his absolute best to install himself as a dictator. And if we elect him, we will deserve it.

I dont have any excessive experience with religion but most of my older family are christian. I always got the shittiest christmas and easter cards from them while I went out of my way to find awesome ones that were non religious, kinda like (Im thinking of you cards). I always got positive feedback.

I pretty much think religion is shit and manifests hate because...history.

I dont however see religion hurting anyone in my broad circle.

Religion has been the #1 cause of tension, murder, ect...

I've always been labeled atheist, which I dont like. Id rather not be labeled

Someone being "successfully primaried" generally means that the incumbent lost their primary election to someone else in the same party.

As far as I know, this has never happened.
