I don't think success is guaranteed, but Project 2025, the military command vacancies, and his behavior in his final months in office seem to point to him setting the stage to take control of the military and the DOJ. He talks about sending the DOJ to investigate not only his political opponents, but also the media, and anybody that isn't adequately supportive.

He also openly discusses invoking the Insurrection Act on Day 1 to deploy the military across the country. While nominally, this is supposed to be for the purposes of "controlling riots", I'm guessing the reality will look a lot more like those unnamed and unidentified roving "Homeland Security" vans that just randomly snatched people off the street at gunpoint in Portland/Seattle.

Next is Schedule F, which he implemented but did not use in the final days of being in office, which will allow him to basically fire the entire upper echelons of the DOJ, and replace them with loyalists.

A big part of Project 2025 is to identify ideologically pure loyalists/yes men that can be immediately installed into these positions.

As for question (2), of course he wants to be president. He wants the attention and the adulation. He wants to have crowds, and give speeches, and order men with guns to shoot anybody that doesn't cheer at his speeches. That's why he isn't doing outreach past his base. He focuses on his base, which gives him the attention/ego boost that he needs. The rest of the GOP figure out how to attract people outside of his base. Or he figures out how to weaponize his base to ensure other voters stay home.

I know I'm always late to the game in discussion and cant really keep up. But a dictator only cares about winning in the court of public opinion. As to raise mob mentality and hopefully overthrow our current system. He doesn't care if he wins the election, if he can raise enough hell to start a civil war/insurrection.

Not entirely. As we are well aware, public opinion can only do so much. See: healthcare, unions, background checks for gun purchases. Having the public on your side is great, but it is much more important to have the people with the guns on your side. That's why you see the legal maneuvering as well--it gives the supporters with guns plausible deniability that they are acting to protect the public by killing off your chosen scapegoat of the day (communists, trans people, LGBT people, people that don;t show the proper respect to dear leader, people that dear leader doesn't like, etc.).

Basically, why bother with a civil war/insurrection, when you can take power through legalese. Gives you more to play with when you invade Mexico/Canada/South America.

And the media is suggesting that Trump will execute people when he is in office. It's just absurd. They are all liars on both sides, and we know that.


The only way someone can take away Christmas is if the people allow them to do that. The only way someone can instate a dictatorship in America, is if the people allow them to do that. It is a mistake to worry about these things, because the people wouldn't allow them. It's just absurd.

I don't see anything wrong with people not wanting their children exposed to drag shows and fetish gear in elementary school. You're talking about voter ID laws... I don't think they are quite as sinister as you make them out to be. I was pointing out absurdities on both sides. Trump saying that Dems wanted to take away Xmas, and Dems saying Trump will install a dictatorship in America.

Thats just what I assume trump is thinking. You're right there is definitely more to it than just that. But I'm sure in his head if he doesn't win the election he has enough public support to try and overthrow the government. Or at the very least cause a lot of upheaval all over the country.
