You can normally find packs of 50-100 at Walmart with lids if you don't want to wait and pay for shipping.

Ok, thanks anyway. The search continues... I will find them!  I would use the gladd containers, but they are a little big and space is at a premium for me.

The lids are essential lol, use the link I just posted, the 2nd one. They are cheap on Amazon esp if you have prime and a recurring subscription. I go through a package of 200-260 every 3mo

Wait what? Condiment cup lids come sterile over there? How do you know? The ones I ordered here just came in a ziploc bag.

On other news, in one of the first shitty containers I used for no-pours (same issue with the lids) I got my first plate pin! From a P Natalensis plate inoculated with spores 1.5 months ago.



You'll have to just believe me until I clone it lol.

That sounds wrong.
Condiment cups are meant to be food grade, therefore they all come sterile, just like everything else used in restaurants or commercial space.

Congrats on a good first. Def suggest switching to pour though, cups really are ideal for this method

Yes if they came in a store bought baggie they are certainly no longer sterile

Too late for the pours though, I've got 50 non sterile pp5 containers ready for no-pours 😂

But actually, the others with the non pp5 lids are totally usable for pouring if I can find something sterile to use as lids. There's no Walmart here though 😅

Is clingwrap sterile right out of the roll? I wonder, given how it is produced, maybe it's like foil?

I doubt those are polypropylene, the lids. The look similar to the non polypropylene I got.

From my experience it's a hit or miss. Even if explicitly stated as PP, often the lids are not. Sometimes they are. I just order and if I find out they melt in the PC, I ask for a refund. It's simple as that.

Throwing this out there, I like to use my leftover condiment cups even if they are unwrapped. Last batch of 30 pours got 4 contams which is acceptable for my noob standards. Definitely beats throwing away the rest of the pack.
