Greetings!

New to the site. Got a first time setup going. Got handed some spore syringes and "manure-loving" (rye, coir, manure, amendments iirc) growbags from a friend. We'd been hearing about microdosing being especially effective for people with treatment resistant depression. I have people close to me who suffer from this and similar maladies and saw this as an opportunity to potentially help.

The bags came with a PDF of what to do. Wasn't really great info IMO. Lacked context and concise information on many things, in my view (which shouldn't mean much because I don't know jack). I started trying to follow that as best as I can.

inoculation went well, no contam that I could tell. It took over 30 days for the bags to fully colonize, breaking them up one time during. After that, I was following the instructions for fruiting them in the bag. Opening the bag a few x a day and misting the bag surface. After a few weeks of doing that, I did end up getting a few fruits. I knew that it shouldn't be like this. I remembered the shroomery from a friend years back.

Came on here. Figured out a few things and realized that I was just fucking off on a path to nowhere. I took the cakes out of the bags, dunked them for 24 hours, built a SGFC and put them in. The cakes have seemed to reboot and I've got 14.7 dried grams from the middle cake. The middle cake had pins when I pulled from bag so I fruited that one while I soaked the outer 2, to clarify.

I have a pressure cooker and dehydrator, several bins to make SABS or tubs with. Haven't decided on which tek to proceed with next but I'M HOOKED! Would love to get into meds and culinary too, eventually.

I really appreciate all the time and work that has gone into the information here. Thank you all.

Here is how it currently is going. I'm amazed at how much they have bounced back. I still think the outer cakes are a little dry feeling. I'm also not sure if that is Overlay beginning to form or what? I know these gauges aren't super accurate but just more of an "OH SHIT" meter if something is spectacularly out-of-band. The box is inside and inside an area with controlled FAE conditions.

Check this out on a more reliable method with your spore syringe.  Updated pf tek

After you have colonized cakes I broke 4 up per Shoebox. I added a liner and some verm to their shoebox tek.

Looks like you have some good microdoses to start. Good luck on your/your people's depression! I take .10g every other day for mine. 

Get those shrooms in a dehydrator for approx 24hrs. It will help preserve potency. After I dry them I throw them in a glass mason jar with a desiccant packet.

Thanks G! Those ones on the clock are dried already. I had stuck em on a wire drying rack over a sheetpan, in front of a box fan. Have low ambient humidity in HVAC areas of the house but bit the bullet to do it right and got a dehydrator. They were already pretty dry from 2 days in front of the fan so it only took a few hours in the dehydrator before being cracker dry because of that. I also grabbed a flat of those half-pint wide mouth jars for PF tek. I appreciate you dropping a later update as I know details of the teks fluctuate over time. Even Paul Stamets has changed stuff up lol.

So on these cakes, I think the yellowing and is just metabolite from being in a higher temperature area and that's what slowed the colonization time too. I guess what I'm curious to is how much vigor I robbed from the cakes by dicking around in the early stage.

Yeah I looked back at that and realized they were probably dry already.

Time will tell how much vigor they lost in the front end.  They look pretty funky at this point but you will probably get a few more fruits.

Got some spore syringe left?  I picked up some brown rice flour from a local heath food store and I got verm from my hardware/ garden store.

Spore syringes work better with smaller cakes imo.

So, I checked out some of your posts. Really liked a log that you posted in the competition thread. I'm gonna have to decipher some of the terminology! I have an instant pot 8qt so I could replicate a lot of your work there.

It really seems like you sparked on mycology.  It's had a really similar effect on me. Reading threads and books at all hours, talking about mycelium to anyone who will listen, thinking about different set up possibilities.

So for these cakes, I'll just love on em to get whatever fruits while I boot up more jars.

I fucking love mycology.  I also like helping people out so this forum is a win win for me.

I have never messed with LC because I just grow a few different shoeboxes at a time then rotate varieties.

If you do score some LC the only reliable way to tell if it is clean is to put some on agar first.  Otherwise you might end up with a bacterial mess.

I don't like to rely on anyone else's work with any of the pre-made stuff.  It might be fine but it might not.

Check out puddinlicious' instant pot Tek. I'll go find the link. The only thing I do different is when I sterilize grain I keep the jars below the water line.  I use jar rings on a wash cloth to elevate my 4 quart jars. Without the wash cloth the rings stained my instant pot bowl like a mf.

I use that sweet little set and forget PC all the time.

It's infectious to see people enjoying themselves. I see that you work at a dispo! You in the store or production? I've been applying around here to spots but so far no luck. I post on /r/FLMedicalTrees/ sometimes. Really like the direction of the program this year, so far. Flower quality and volume seems up across the board. I've been thinking about building one of those DIY Pinky heater units for flower. My lungs are pretty torched so I try to not smoke anymore.

When I start my jars this weekend I'll make sure to properly document and write it up this time. I only took terrible mental notes this run and that was a bad mistake. I went into it feeling like there's no fucking way I'm pulling off this shit and then I was like ZANG!! Watching this organism do its thing has been absolutely incredible for me.

EDIT: Dunno what to do about LC. I thought you could source that on sites? I wouldn't mind doing agar stuff, but would need time to get all the supplies to do a somewhat proper job. At least after spawning these bags successfully I know these two syringes I have aren't contaminated or full of bunk shit, right? They just been chilling in the butter drawer since inoculation day.

You can source LC from trusted vendors but it isn't anyways clean. The only way to know is to drop some on agar.

Agar isn't hard it is just a few extra steps to ensure everything is clean.

I work in the dispensary as a budtender. It is a pretty awesome job. I went to a little one day training course called hempstaff. I recommend it if you are trying to get a job in a dispensary.

Yeah those syringes you already have should be golden with the pf tek.

Man, I straight up appreciate it! I checked out that agency and saw the certification courses they offer. This looks perfect. I could use all the leverage I can get.

So, what kind of cannabis products do you like the best? What are some of your favorite cultivars? I really like Flower but have shitty lungs so I avoid smoking. Need to get a dry herb vape setup going, BADLY! My Gotos are TK, Robots, Animal Larry, Slurricane, Bubba Punch, Mango Haze, Runtz, Wookie Girl, Queso Perro. Haven't had a chance to go to Ocala and try JB yet or order 710 Labs. I been doing concentrates in a rig and decarb or distillate in PCKT SPRK cart, also make MCT/lecithin tincture with RSO. I try to get rosin when I can but you know how they all tax like a bitch for that shit. TL and MUV's BHO can be pretty good too. I haven't tried any of the TL crumble, shatter, or wax since they switched to BHO on those. I'm honestly surprised more companies aren't running BHO!

EDIT: Adding that Oi, I need to figure out what to do once these cakes form up. I could dunk and roll the cakes and use the SGFC i built or I could crumble the cakes and add to a substrate and place in a tub or shoeboxes or something?

I don't know any cannabis product I dont like.

Specifically though I like muv's live diamonds and surterra's live rosin.

I like flower a lot. Check out my infused joint recipe in my noob grow along link.
You only have to smoke a couple hits.
I went out to Colorado a few weeks ago and got some kaviar moonrock joints. I'm hooked.

If the cakes look clean then I would throw them in a shoebox.  If not I'd top fruit or throw them in your sgfc since you have it.  I'm not a fan of the sgfc because they cause a bunch of problems with cakes drying out. 

I used a cheese grater to break up my cakes.

I haven't tried diamonds yet or any THCA isolate. The flowery just had that drop with preferred gardens and I think 710 is dropping flower next list too! I been getting a lot of Live Rosin at Surterra. The Cakez has been decent, but that Tropicana Haze was jammin! I did see that J on your post. My wife and daughter like Js a lot and do different little teks with them.

Cheese grater is a good idea. I'm picturing my baked ass dual wielding vintage 1989 salad shooters, pullin some wild core!!!!!!

Hadn't been to CO since adult-use came into effect but it looks pretty awesome out there!!

The two outer cakes only put off a few fruits a piece. The middle one put out 50G dried. After I picked the last flush there were hardly any pins still coming and I began to smell but not yet see mold. I've been told my sense of smell is good, so I buried the cakes under a shade tree. I'd rather lose some potential fruits vs sporebombing my grow space, in any case.

I will be doing a 10x jar, 1/2 pint WIDE, PF Tek run with 2tbsp Gypsum supplimentation split between my remaining JMF and GT spore syringes.
