2 reasons why I'll start listening to the dead now.

1. all you freaks are obsessed with em. like since the pub started the grateful dead are always the meat of the topics here. so there's gotta be something to them.

2. Just to see, I put in "grateful dead suck" in google, as well as "britney spears sucks," "smashing pumpkins suck," and "radiohead sucks." they got 58, 771, 62, and 363 results, respectively. Grateful dead win, I'm surprised actually. The fact that the pumpkins came in 2nd makes me happy though because they're my favorite band. yeah ok i'm too bored for my own good.

Ive been on a Obscured jag lately...Its really hard to say which on i like the most....Division Bell is probably my favorite because Gilmour had more input from Richard Wright and there are some of Gilmours best solos also....Meddle n Obscured are my fav older ones

i agree, meddle is fucking great, right up next to obscured. I don't know how many days i went just listening to echoes over and over.

theres just too many of them to choose from sometimes though

cool man listen to some live dead from like 1972-1974-ish is my favorite.  if you wanna go buy a cd go get "Live Dead".  Maybe some other people can shed some more light on the studio stuff, I usually only listen to the live shit.

BTW thats a great way to see how much something sucks im gonna have to try it out:

and google searching guy- lmao, that was funny, but come on, what good as gold, god fearing website would use the phrase "satan sucks" to get their point across? at least when you do it with music you know there are fans out there who use the word sucks on a regular basis.

I started to listen to The Grateful Dead about a year and a half ago. I can say I was closed minded when it came to music, as I used to listen to Pink Floyd, Roger Waters (solo stuff), Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Rush exclusively for the last 20 years. The first time I listened to The Grateful Dead I soon realized that this was the music I have been wanting to hear and searching for all that time.

neither the grateful dead, nor the smashing pumpkins suck. I own a lot of music by both groups, and have seen both in concert, the smashing pumpkins 4 times, and the dead, to many to count. They dont suck, in fact, they're quite the opposite. All those other artists you mentioned totally suck though..
