Mislav Kolakusic is a Croatian independent who compared vaccine mandates to capital punishment in an address to Emmanuel Macron. From 2019 to 2022, Kolakušić voted with the winning side in 14.8% of votes, the lowest of all MEPs.

Christian Terhes is a Romanian who lodged an application with the European Court of Human Rights against Covid-19 measures in Romania - this application was rejected. He compared Trudeau to Nicolae Ceausescu, who was one of the most repressive dictators of the Eastern Bloc.

Christine Anderson is a member of the AfD party. In March 2021 it was reported that the Bundesverfassungsschutz put the entire AfD under surveillance as a suspected extremist group.

Whoever the hell these people are what they said about Trudeau was bang on the bullseye and he’s certainly not the sort of person anyone purporting to be a libertarian or traditionally left-wing would support.

The message is absurd. Trudeau is currently the leader of a minority parliamentary gov't - he can't do anything unilaterally, which is kinda one of the cornerstones of dictatorships. You can be critical of the Canadian gov't without veering into the absurd.

Giving background information on the messengers contextualizes that absurdity in a way I find amusing - thus the satire article - but the message was never not absurd. Comparing Trudeau to the likes of Nicolae Ceaușescu is absurd. Calling Canada a dictatorship is absurd.
