I had a sore throat and chills for two hours on Wednesday night. First time I’ve felt sick in two years.

I thought I had it. Idk maybe I did. I’ve been hearing people say people who are boosted have extremely mild cases, but two hours seems a little ridiculous

Hospitalizations are exploding in my state. So, delta is still spreading or omicron is still pretty severe for some people

Yep. Hospitals in my area have 5-10 hour wait times at the ER.

Not a good time to be sick right now and need emergency care. You'll probably just die in the waiting room.

Wuhan ancestral - 7 days
B.0 (first wave US) - 6 days
Alpha (second US wave) - 5 days
Delta - 4 days
Omicron - 2 to 3 days

I’ve already explained this to you. If a state doesn’t track covid cases to their conclusion. then active cases is the same as total cases. There aren’t 5,000,000 active cases. Ignore active cases. It’s not a reliable metric in the US.

500% increase in child hospitalization in NYC in the past month. Omicron may not be as innocuous in the unvaccinated and never infected as we think. It could be that high levels of immunity are masking omicrons true nature. One study shows that omicron is only 11% less intrinsically virulent than delta.

This pandemic as certainly been revealing about the true nature of some people. I never realized how self centered and uncaring others can be about their neighbors.

Not just their neighbors but i know someone who works with institutionalized double handicapped people of the severest categories. The guy doesnt just refuse the jabs for covid AND flu but just got sacked because he refuses to wear a mask as per clinic pandemic guidelines.

Of course that's some next level assery; clearly if one is to work with extremely vulnerable people then one must make adjustments to do so.

Edit: to stay relevant to the thread: I feel even better today and my smell is at about 80% now. I did notice around day 4 or 5 I had a chlorine like smell. It smelled like that and stale air. Also there felt like a film encompassing my entire mouth that nothing would get rid of. No idea what it was but wanted to share for the sake of all information about covid is valuable.
