If you could buy an arcade machine...
    #3999508 - 04/01/05 09:47 AM (19 years, 19 days ago)

What would you buy? In order of preference, I'd get:

Ms. Pac-Man (best game ever)
X-Men (the 4 or 6 player one)
Arkanoid

hmm. that's SUCH a tough one.

I love pacman as well, tekken is awesome, mortal kombat (as opposed to omelette) Pong, tetris...

When i buy a house, I plan on having a HUGE game room with a pool table in the center, and a ton of old school arcade games lining the walls. I might never leave that room.

That Simpsons arcade game is definitely sweet. Ms. Pac-Man is SO much better than regular Pac-Man.

I thought about good gun ones, like TIme Crisis or GunBlade but I think I'd get more tired of those than the endless fun of Pac-Man. MS. Pac-Man.

The Ninja Turtles 4-player game is one of the best ever, I wish I could have that and the X-Men one facing each other, it would be BEAUTIFUL.

I might die happy if I had both of those.  but I wouldn't know which one to play

Also, I think I'd have to buy an old school sports game...like old NBA shootout or something.  Or OLD Madden.

Right around the corner from where I live is this place called Crif Dogs. They're open all night, serve Magic Hat AND Pabst Blue Ribbon, tater tots, all sorts of crazy hot dog concoctions, burgers, and shakes.

And they don't just have ONE Ms. Pac-Man machine, oh no...they've got one stand-up machine, and then one of the table-top ms.pac-man/galaga machines. It's fucking sweet. They're open till around 5 too.

A pacman game would be really cool 'cause you can sit at it and stuff.

The Simpson's game, or the TMNT game, which were similar are both good (I almost beat the Simpson's game when I was little, there were a bunch of us with $5 in quarters each for a birthday party, and we made it to the final boss then ran out)...

There was this one game that I played at Canada's Wonderland once, where you're sitting down and holding a big gun, you were supposed to be the gunner for a helicopter. It was an amazing game...

There's also a sniper game... I think it's called Silent Scope.

Silent Scope kicks ass same with Buckhunter

I can't believe no one has said street fighter two or mortal kombat 2
Timekillers is awesome you can cut off your opponents body parts.

Golden Axe is cool (I finished the second one with a friend one day)

Double Dragon

But the fave would have to be WWF Wrestlefest, I could never beat the legion of doom, Jake the snake was the best in it.

I can't believe I forgot it but Sega's Virtual Tennis the giant one with the big stand.

Me and a buddy from school would play that thing for so long. One day we came in track suits and when we got to the arcade we ripped them off to reveal the shortest and tightest tennis shorts imaginable.

People sat their and watched us play, we had headbands and everything we were done up to the tits.

The sad thing was we were so bad at the game but it was so damn fun.

opperation wolf. just cause it was the first game i played with an actual gun. i love killing nurses. other than that, someone got there WAY before i did , but i'll say it again. the simpsons game. someone actually got close to beating it? i always assumed it just took your money till you went home broke and that there WAS no ending.

hm. just read the tennis thing. lmao. no comment.

MAME is cool as hell. But if you really wanna go all out you need to build a cabinet to house your MAME box and monitor. Here is one of the best built and well-documented ones out there. (This guy is one of the founders of slashdot).

My list:
Ms Pac Man (!!!)
Tron
Robotron 2064

I played a game once where you were on a stationary bike... and you pedalled, and that powerd a flying helicopter that you had to fly around a landscape and break balloons. I wish I could remember the name of it.... I'd LOVE to have that one!

Isn't Ms. Pac-Man just perfect? PERFECT!

I went to a movie at my campus Union several years ago shroomin with a buddy of mine. After the movie we went down to the arcade and bolwing alley and I played some Ms. Pac Man... I don't know what was going on, but I was in the ZONE. Over 100,000 score... It was fast as hell and after a while the game didn't even give me the Power Dots... all I could do was outrun the ghosts.

I have never repeated that feat.

Hahahaha that's fucking awesome. The other week when I tripped on acid for the first time in forever I played a bunch of Ms. PAc-Man on my girlfriend's gameboy. It was a delight.

Yeah, the gun shakes, you're probably right, I haven't played it in years. It was awesome though.
