My buddy, who is a cashier at a really busy grocery store and works full time 8 hours a day seeing hundreds of people *JUST* got covid, after 2 and a half years of escaping it. He's vaxxed of course- but it's kind of shocking after all this time.

This is pretty damn encouraging.

Cases are exploding here. Infection rate is 1.5% per week. This maybe the highest case rate anywhere for the entire pandemic

Hospitalizations are down 50%






Vaccines are holding up much better than expected. This is almost all omicron and the percentage of total cases that are vaccinated has only gone up about 10% to 24%. If the vaccines weren’t working it would be around 65%.

My girl is sick today. Since I had that weird 12 hour cold day before yesterday we are gonna try to get tested today. I can get tested at work anytime but she can't so we might have to drive a long way for testing

My girl has a horrible cough and sore throat with no fever and she just tested negative with a home test from Walmart.
Anecdotally there is some weird cold going around here.
