I apologize to those of you who can't source a antigen test, but I just now decided to re-test several days later, this time using the CLINITEST Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test by Siemens, a German company known for its high quality standards.





Ease of use of the test was good and the test result came out negative. A plus over the usual Flowflex test is that it has a long swab which can be used by people who know what theire doing deep in the backl of the nose, like they do at test sites.

Cost was under 25 bucks for 10 tests, so I bought the ten-pack.


Its not covid, its some weird ass not-quite cold.

Nah it's a bit worse than the common cold. I completely lost my smell and taste and had the weirdest pains and body aches. The first 2 days I had worst chills of my life and thew up like I never have before(I live completely alone and wasn't about to go to a hospital for personal reasons so nobody else was in danger). Also super heavy chest. But by day 11 I started to feel better. I still have the weird sharp pains and they are completely random.


Edit: but not worse than shingles (FOR ME ANYWAY) :shrug:

During my shift yesterday we started transferring out all Ortho patients and replacing with covid. I imagine by the time my shift begins tomorrow, the unit will be back to full covid status. And these will be mostly people who are actually sick with covid, not just random MVA or GSW patients that happen to test positive

I'll keep y'all apprised

Houston has apparently  run out of monoclonal antibodies

We barely used them in the municipal hospital to begin with. Our pts are "lucky" to get a course of remdesivir
