Lol so do you not believe in parts of the world you've never been to???? I've never been to Iceland but I'd be a fool to think it's not there where the map says it is.  There are .gov sites you can read about the waivers in Japan, the covid protests are not hard to look up, I'm simply pointing out how the news isn't covering it here in america.  And as far as the case and death that's fair because I agree the # s are always manipulated but when even the vaccine pushers and fear mongerers are agreeing that omicron isn't killing anyone then I don't have a reason to doubt it.

Oh I believe they're there alright, but I would never say I know what's happening in them.

Believe me mate, I've had so many Americans straight up tell me that things are a 'certain' kinda way in a place I've spent significant time in and saw with my own eyes how it was completely different. I've literally had guys standing in front telling me I'm wrong when they've never been there and I have. It's more common than you think, when you've been as many places as I have and then live here.

Point is, we gotta question everything, and never take what we're told as wholesale truth, unless we've been and seen it first hand.

So much is fakery and lies these days, and we gotta be mindful of that.

That's fair.  I tried the empathy thing for several months, letting people make their own decisions, respecting their ideas, etc.  It didn't work.  I really like breaking stuff guy, it's my way of bringing a little humour to this thread and trying to lighten the mood.  I'm not actually angry. :smile:

Because I don't believe in 'sources' (they're like assholes, everyone has one to back up their opinion/agenda). I believe is what one has seen with their own eyes.

I don't believe that a humorous 'facepalm' deserves being called a tool and having words stuffed into ones mouth either, but hey ho.

This is certainly a discussion that invokes passion in many, so I've learned to live with it.

I just talked to someone yesterday who's unvaccinated daughter got sick from her vaxxed and boosted roommate. Her daughter is doing fine basically except loss of taste and smell, while the roommate is really sick. More anecdotal stuff, I know, but interesting to me...so I thought I'd share.

Since I already got and defeated covid twice, I'm giving up my vaccines for someone who needs it more. It's the right thing to do IMO. Socially responsible and whatnot.

Right and if I fit the stereotypical conspiracy nut, that lie would be covering up some lie to promote control and compliance, in this case pro vax mandate, it's not.

I'm anti mandate just like you remember?  And the people we've been going back and forth with in this thread love to reference these kinds of websites.  I personally don't give a fuck what you consider to be factual or not but debating 101 says if you can use your opponents points against them you do that.  Get it?

I guess maybe I'm not understanding your reason for being anti mandate.  For me it's not just about control its also my health.  So when a countries government goes against the grain and publicly acknowledges the risks associated w the jab, it's obviously a point worth bringing up.

Starting to become clear that omicron is not less serious than other variants for children. Children admitted to ICU for covid in France has exploded, now twice as high as the previous peak.

Some confirmation about breakthrough rates seen in other places.

The vaccines are holding up to omicron much better than expected. In the least boosted demographic, the vaccines are preventing about 2 out of 3 infections, while the nearly universally boosted demographic is showing no loss of efficacy compared to delta and preventing more than 90% of omicron infections. This is being seen else where. The boosters are nearly as good against omicron as delta.

Observed efficacy rates
18-49, 50-64, 65+
