If I remember correctly some guys were talking about adding nutritional yeast for more rhizomorphic growth
never tested it myself but worth a shot if you like the rhizo look

I’ve been doing tests comparing LMEA and LMEyeast. so far no yeast is performing better, definitely all LMEA are showing better more rapid growth. I’ll edit in a couple of pics when I get over waking at 2:30 / 3 hours sleep. a-fuckin-gain.

Best photos I could take of my only jewelry case colonized. Fighting this bullshit reddit syringe for months now and this plate is 1 month old and kind of soggy from crazy weather.

@d3monic, you may not like these jewelry cases, have you tried 'em yet?

Almond flour, meh!

These awful photos took years of specialized doctoral training (lighting intensity, direction, filters, lens choices) and I still can't visualize how clean my myc is. This camera is the bottleneck here, lens is scratched and just old.

I just open it and make the decision in my sab and get to work. They've treated me well for years now and I like the small size. But bleach and hundreds of transfers fucks the plastic.

I have mixed feelings on them, the depth has me bumping the edge with my scalpel and awkwardly trying to get the agar off the tip. Clarity isn’t great but workable. If they was shallower and wider like 90mm they would be awesome

Hello mushroom people  these were not my best pour had air bubbles for some reason and the charcoals not fine enough so its a bit grainy, but they are 3rd transfer all from same plate, different sectors but they all seem to have one side very sparse rhizo and one side loose tomentose growth. So my question is, what the f##k? Why are they like this and not symmetrical or more dense? Is it likely contamination or a week strain? Should i take them any further?

Pics aren't the best, the tubs aren't very clear makes some look like contams all over the place might try and take some others to get a better view. But on the glass dish its just air bubbles round the side dont know why they happened.

I haven't done it yet, but I think I'm going to pour some HG plates nice and thick and use them as pseudo slants for a bunch of new varieties I have plated but no spores atm.

Everything i can see on those looks pretty good... id take another round of transfers from some of the more ropey bits and if you've got the time/resources/curiosity, take a transfer or 2 from the tomentose side for comparison...

Another factor could be agar depth... ive had cultures that were really rhizo on the thinner side of the dish and more tomentose on the thicker bits... try to keep your plates as level as possible while they cool.

Otherwise, keep up the good work!

Thank you Roarkell you are a genius i never would have noticed that, you are spot on though, they are tilted with the tomentose growth on the thick side. Thats weird but cheers I will endeavour to take some more transfers and will see what happens on a flat dish, and will see how the tomentose side turns out too.
Thanks for your help

Hey everyone, these T2 are looking suspicious.
Would you toss em or transfer?

I'd like to save em if possible only if it makes sense.

Thanks in advance!
