Pan.cyan mycelium on agar questions....

I have taken a wild print and inoculated agar with it.. then I isolated what i thought was Pan. mycelium.. it is incredibly fuzzy and looks like pictures I have seen of Pan mycelium... However, it is causing the agar to discolour. The agar around the heavy growth is turning a brown colour... and there are bits of the mycelium which are becoming crusty... I will have some pics soon.. but in the meantime has anyone had similar experiences?? I have had agar turn brown... (appears to be drying) with other inoculations as well..

The agar is H202 MEA

I've seen that! In my case it was a slow growing contamn that disappeared after few transfers of mycellium to fresh plates. Try to transfer only the fuzzy mycelium (aerial part) and not the agar, which is probably contaminated.
