Im about to start growing pan cyans but limited with supplies, im using brwn rice flour and verm cakes. i also have peate moss and lime for the casing. My question is can i just use the rice flour/verm cakes and add some manure in the jars? will they colonize? and if they do can i use a 50/50 casing to grow them? will i need to add some manure int he 50/50?

Pan cyans will grow without dung, as long as they are cased, just not very well....

would manure improve the growth or would it be a bad idea to mix with verm/brwn rice flr? or should i just replace the rice flour with manure?

Hmmm, why not, instead of adding the manure to the substrate, just colonize the brf/verm jars and then use them as spawn to colonize the manure? Then, case with another layer of the manure. This is basically Ralph's Pan. cyan tek, but using brf/verm instead of finch seed.

i have to agree with pyro on this one. just use some finch seed cakes as spawn for manure. i tried a method where i grew them using a substrate recipe where manure was included, cased the cakes with verm, and only one the casings fruited, and i only got a quarter once. it was because i was using perlite and i cant ever get perlite to work right, and i had limited supplies. now that i have more supplies, and i nice ultra sonic humidifier setup, i really want to try again. now one will seem to kick down a print though.

Ever considered buying one. I know, if your situation is anything like mine, then you probably dont have a shiny $10 bill lying around, but I always seem to be able to buy what I want one way or another.

Cyans will colonise the brwn rice/verm cakes, just leave them an extra week or so to help the mycelium become more virile. Then spawn dung with the cakes. Then you can case with more dung or with peat moss.

Why would you say stuff like that on here? Anyway, every time I have ever stolen anything, I have not pocketed it or carried it off in something. I just grab what I want and walk out with it in my hands. It looks more conspicuous to walk out with a bulge in your backpack or pocket or shirt, then it does to just carry smething out. I have even been known to take a plastic bag with me into the store, making sure that its the same bags that the store uses for their groceries. I load up the bag and walk out, nobody could even guess that I never paid. But I was never stupid enough to leave the tags on something, the tags that make the alarms go off. I would never take something that expensive usually anyway.
