Is this the first election we've seen this?  I don't seem to recall this being the case in previous elections.  :shrug:


I have there's been a few times where 270 wasn't reached which is the only true instantaneous win ( I tried to look up info one way or the other because I don't trust my memory and turns out it's not easy to find out). Also we've never had such a good understanding of epidemiology which means it's obvious the need for mail in ballots was valid and probably saved a lot of lives. If the price is waiting a few days to make sure every American has a voice it's our obligation to do so without 270 in the electoral

If its any consolation to trump supporters if biden wins i will be holding him to the same standars i did for trump so if he ever tries to use a foreign government to influence an election i will fight shoulder to shoulder with republicans because when it comes to president there cannot be double standards anymore.

Maybe I'm confused because in California, I seem to recall being told that my mail in ballots had reach to the elections office on or before election day.

Reaching the office and being counted by the office are two different things.

If it's postmarked as being sent prior to election day it's going to be counted.

Ok, I just checked the rules for California and it looks like they made a lot of changes for Covid-19.  Now it says:

You may return your voted ballot by mailing it to your county elections official;
- Vote-by-mail ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by your county elections office no later than 17 days after Election Day.

You do understand that the GOP in Pennsylvania went to court to force mail in ballots to not even be opened until yesterday, right? 2/3 of the vote was mail in.

In 12 states the USPS was ordered by a judge, a ruling against Trumps efforts to sue mind you to sweep mail in ballots location in 12 states and 4 hours ago the USPS failed to meet the court ordered deadline. So in short the main reason there's so many states that take a long time is in major part the USPS system being sabotaged by Trump and Louis De Joy. Democracy will win and mail in ballots will count.

Some states let them come in for a few days if they are postmarked yesterday. All these rules were challenged in court and the GOP failed.

What is going on with this shit for real? Arr the votes being counted or what? Can u believe this shit? Can the feds put people in to teach some these states how to count or whatever is going on? I mean I dont understand it why is everything some fiasco fuck up with these people? Some these states really need to sort thier shit out.

I have time for both Sam and Scott so have been following their online barbs since the famous podcast. How can two extremely sharp and eloquent people see the same phenomenon so differently? Seems that Sam has been struggling with it too as he keeps referring to the 2019 Scott Adam's podcast regularly - always in the context of not being able to fully integrate it.

Well, his linked statement sounds like the first step in seeing at the basic psychological level Trump's popular appeal. Not a concession of any kind because this was never an argument in search of a rational conclusion but rather a show of deficit of common ground between them.

As I mentioned I like them both so it was painful to see them feud like this.

It's very simple. Moscow Mitch, R-KY, is in charge of the senate and has his hand up Trump's ass. As a result of Moscow Mitch, the government is actively not helping the states, and cutting funding for everything. Including elections.

As a result, everything is slow and useless. This is what happens when you elect republicans. Their entire thing is that government is bad and doesn't work. Of course they're gonna break shit and slow shit down when they're in charge.
