Well, you're probably confusing knowing who was elected with knowing the results.  Many races aren't that close, so they don't really need to have all of the votes in to call a winner.  Usually one side will concede when that happens.  Even in those elections, however, we don't get the final count for awhile.  In 2016, Hillary conceded, but her popular vote lead continued to grow for at least a week after election day.

It's very simple. Moscow Mitch, R-KY, is in charge of the senate and has his hand up Trump's ass. As a result of Moscow Mitch, the government is actively not helping the states, and cutting funding for everything. Including elections.

As a result, everything is slow and useless. This is what happens when you elect republicans. Their entire thing is that government is bad and doesn't work. Of course they're gonna break shit and slow shit down when they're in charge.
