I referred to both Hunter and Joe on various occasions.

It is of little importance to me whether Hunter told the foreign players that they can buy Joe's ear by paying Hunter. It is of little importance to me if he consumated the deal and held onto the share allocated for Joe. These details are important for the story of Hunter's operation and hopefully will get aired at some point but he is not on the ballot.

What matters to me is whether Joe knew that Hunter sold this story to his clients. Here are a few reasons:

The future president of the US will have to deal with China's expansion - economical, political and military - so in my world it is relevant if he had knowingly entered into a dodgy pay-for-play arrangement with Chinese interests (who ultimately do what CCP tell them to). From that perspective I would prefer a president who does not have this liability to his name.

Joe had multiple opportunities to deny he knew about the deals and did not take them. If he indeed knew what Hunter was up to I would consider his PR effort (including the non-denial denial by his campaign and dodging the direct question during the last debate) dishonest. You stated here that you would not so this may be why our perspectives differ.

Joe has lost one son and, as a parent, I understand that his human impulse will be to protect Hunter. Hunter's story is so ugly that both the Ukrainians (and, by extension, Russians) and Chinese probably have more compomising videos as well as correspondence with the transactional part of the deals. This material can be used to blackmail Joe.

Every President is vulnerable to blackmail related to family.  That's a real stretch.  I don't see anything "dodgy" at all about the business proposition, though.  It sounds like it was all about introductions.

A little background for you.  I believed the US Government when they told me Russia invaded Ukraine, but my Russian friends told me it was bullshit.  So who should I believe?  NO ONE.

I went to Crimea to find out for myself (my links to some beautiful pictures broke, so I'll try to fix that soon).  EDIT:  PHOTOS FIXED
