That goes without saying.  Whether he's morbidly obese or just obese is something we'd need more data for, though.

Correct - there may be people who know. What I said is that the speculations are based on the BMI metric. Are you aware of any speculations about Trump being obese which use his actual (known) body fat percentage as a base?

6'3" at 243 lbs would put him at obese but not morbidly obese

He looks OK wearing a suit. When he's in his golf clothes and bending over to start his swing, he's clearly very obese. He's probably not morbidly obese but he's partway there. The fact that he doesn't smoke and drink is good, but with his horrendous diet and the mass of his gut, combined with age, he's a heart attack waiting to happen.

Don't tell me what his doctors said. They say what they're paid to say.

He doesn't carry his weight as someone likely to have a heart attack, a fat ass is more likely found on someone with a good circulatory system even when paired with a fat belly, also he lacks ear creases on his lobes an indicator of an impending heart attack.

I wasn't going to

Conversation was about bmi and what constitutes morbidly obese. His bmi is around 30,
which is obese, but not morbidly obese.

I think he wears a girdle under the suit, but you can't swing a golf club very well in a girdle

Who knows if that 243 number is even remotely correct. As we know, he's like the healthiest president ever.

Actually from what I understand about the apple vs pear shape and heart attack risk, he's apple shaped which is worse. That's why guys die sooner than women. More gut, less butt.

Yet another study shows hydroxychloroquine is associated with a higher rate of death. It’s absolutely ridiculous this has become a political issue.

Trump should double his dose for better results

This was a huge study that examined 96,000 cases. Nobody should be taking hydroxychloroquine for covid. Hydroxychloroquine patients had double the rate of death. Democrat study out the U.K..

It’s unethical to continue hydroxychloroquine trials with this kind of data.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)31180-6/fulltext

Quote:
96 032 patients (mean age 53·8 years, 46·3% women) with COVID-19 were hospitalised during the study period and met the inclusion criteria. Of these, 14 888 patients were in the treatment groups (1868 received chloroquine, 3783 received chloroquine with a macrolide, 3016 received hydroxychloroquine, and 6221 received hydroxychloroquine with a macrolide) and 81 144 patients were in the control group. 10 698 (11·1%) patients died in hospital. After controlling for multiple confounding factors (age, sex, race or ethnicity, body-mass index, underlying cardiovascular disease and its risk factors, diabetes, underlying lung disease, smoking, immunosuppressed condition, and baseline disease severity), when compared with mortality in the control group (9·3%), hydroxychloroquine (18·0%; hazard ratio 1·335, 95% CI 1·223–1·457), hydroxychloroquine with a macrolide (23·8%; 1·447, 1·368–1·531), chloroquine (16·4%; 1·365, 1·218–1·531), and chloroquine with a macrolide (22·2%; 1·368, 1·273–1·469) were each independently associated with an increased risk of in-hospital mortality.

Ouch, you don't believe this nonsensical statement do you?  What this study looks at is patients receiving treatment within 48 h of diagnosis....what that means is they can be literally anywhere along the timeline, as people are not generally diagnosed on day 1.  Now, it is certainly possible this drug is ineffective when used for COVID, or even has a negative effect, but more than 1 study is needed to come to any conclusions.

Rather than stop studying the drug, we should continue to study this drug even more.  The whole purpose behind emergency use authorization is so that drugs which indicate there may be a potential to prevent or treat a disease or condition, especially one which is cheap and readily available, are actually available to those who need it....and a GLOBAL PANDEMIC seems like the perfect time to put it to use.  We should look at people who are taking the drug prior to having COVID, as well as continue to run additional studies which try and treat patients at day 1 since testing now widely available.

We have multiple studies showing hydroxychloroquine has a significant association with higher mortality. What justification is there to continue using a drug that shows no benefit and significant harm?  Clinical trials are cancelled with far less severe outcomes than this.

Well, I know it was two paragraphs, but here the justification is blatantly obvious:

True believers will never give up their beliefs no matter the evidence showing they are wrong.

People taking hydroxychloroquine still get covid. There is no evidence it acts as prophylaxis and plenty of evidence it is dangerous and leads to worse outcomes.

Yes, that describes you well, but as I said it may very well prove to be ineffective, that isn't the point....we need to do the studies to rule it out, this is how science works. We do not approve, or reject a drug based on 1 study, or only looking at 1 perspective, such as patients already very sick.

You actually need to justify doing a study and the justifications for studying a drug that has clear negative effect needs to be extremely convincing. If people who take hydroxychloroquine were not getting covid, then you might have a case but at this point you just need to call it and pull the trials. The shit doesn’t work. Let’s move on. It’s a fucking immunosuppressant. It’s just bizarre anyone thought it was a good idea in the first place.

Actually it’s not bizarre. It’s an off patent drug that if someone could prove it was successful at treating a new condition would stand to make billions when they get a new patent for the drug. People are pushing this so hard because it would be a financial windfall unlike anything in the history of the world. Getting a patent for a drug that nobody owns to prevent a disease that everyone is in danger of getting. Unbelievable riches.
