ways to get to bonnaroo

so here's the deal

me and my best friend are going to bannoroo this year

only thing is, we dont know how we're gonna get there. I can't take my car, because it will explode. Can't rent a car because we're not 25. We live in the pacific northwest, so it's going to be quite a journey. I checked out greyhound's site, and we'll bus it as a last resort, but I really dont feel like riding on a bus for 3 days.

Anyone else have any suggestions of how we could get there?

Look around the net there is ride sharing boards all over!  It's hard to find rides to places like this though, 2 guys and gear take alot of room! Unless you find someone who invites you on there bus.  Couldn't you guys afford a cheap ride?

start way early and try to hitchhike? i dunno, never tried hitch-hiking when i lived in the States 'cause we were always taught in drivers ed not to pick up hitchhikers, and so i figured nobody would ever pick me up, but in Norway it works like a charm!

well hitch-hiking around the northwest is great (I've done it), but I've been told by many people that I shouldn't try to hitch-hike across the midwest. I hear there's some fucked up shit that is more likely to take place there than here. WHY CANT EVERYONE JUST BE COOL DAMMIT.

yep I lived in Michigan... the only person I ever saw hitchhiking was this one bum who I saw everyday on the same stretch of road... unfortunately during this period I was only 15 or something and didn't drive, elsewise I'd have picked him up just to see where the hell he was going to... when I finally got a car, he had disappeared.

I know a few people who will hitchhike accross the mid-west. I've also picked up a few and gave them rides. I would highly caution anyone who's going to try this to be very careful, the police might stick you in jail. I know most people would be scared of you but there is enough to get you accross if you are lucky.

I've only done it near festival grounds and other concert events. I don't know if I have the balls to go out and do it. Maybe in in another part of the country but not here.

The thing about hich hiking acroos the midwest is that you need to find some one that will take you for the long haul. You dont want to get dumped in the middle of know where. You will always hear stories but dont let fear curb you from going and expieriencing what you want.

Good idea. I know the train that goes past my house runs down to Virgina.
My tip for runnin on trains is this..
At night stay away from any fires on the tracks. You dont want to be murdered by the AFTR( American Freight Train Riders)
