He's a comedian.  His show presents as comedy.  Nobody took Jon Stewart seriously until he was about to retire either.  Its actually another symptom of our sick society that we look to comedians for serious news now

Seriously as a provider of news.

I don't dislike jimmy dore.  I think he's funny a lot of the time and his politics line up with mine well enough. 
I think it's a bad sign that we are made to depend on comedians for our news.  One of my favorite daily show bumps from back in the day was "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where more Americans get their news...than probably should."

Sure, I think it's sad that the mainstream media isn't a good source of news, but that's what makes sources like Jimmy Dore all the more relevant.

And if they also appeal to the right, all the better.

Remember when i was talking about nuance the other day?  It means i can wish for a better source than jimmy dore without saying he doesn't cover relevant topics.

Also, if the question is why people dont take jimmy dore seriously, i answered it already.  Its because he presents his show as comedy.  Good or bad, thats the deal

So would I.  But I'm still trying to understand what's wrong with Jimmy Dore?  Everyone feels cool hating on him, but no one can provide a good reason why.  He's a comedian; big deal why should I care?

I never said that i don't, but my biggest critique is too much time spent spelling out the subtext.  Just play the clip and then tear it apart.  Let people have a chance to form an opinion before you try to slam your own home.
Personally, i dont trust individual sources as a general rule.  I try to cast a wide net and discard as much bullshit as possible on the retrieve.

No, Dore is useful for anyone that is Anti-Establishment (which is a lot of people today). You're the most pro-Establishment member in this forum, so I can understand why you find him annoying.

No you can't, do you know why? Because it's too difficult for most on The Left to admit there's no real liberals around today, so it's easier to just rationalize the behavior instead of scrutinizing it.

Ok, that's a fair point.

But The Ecstatic claimed Jimmy had some "monumentally bad takes" and so I wanted to understand that.  I respect your opinions, and you guys may well be right.  That's why I'm asking for examples.  The Ecstatic also claimed  "the serious people on the left don’t take him seriously", but I do, so I'm waiting for an example of why I shouldn't take him seriously anymore, because you guys could be right.

Again, I understand your point about wishing he should play the clips before commenting on them, but I'm always in agreement with him.  Heck, I often post my opinions before Jimmy does, and he tends to mirror what I say (and vice-versa).  :shrug:
