This story is devastating to the trump defense. It describes what was happening within the Ukrainian government.

There were explicit demands made upon the Ukrainian President, he was told he would not get aid unless he made a public announcement of an investigation into Biden and crowdstrike, and he had scheduled an interview in CNN to announce the investigations.  Four before the interview, the whistleblower complaint was made public, then the aid was released and zelensky canceled the announcement.

trump has been orderd to pay $2 million in compensation and penalties for self dealing and illegal use of his charity.

In the Roger Stone trial, the prosecution alleges Stone lied  about his conversations with Trump and Wikileaks, with a further implication that Trump lied under oath to Mueller.

Come on. If Bernie is president he’s gonna do things that you don’t like. he will make decisions that get people killed. He will have to choose  between the lesser of two evils.

Obama and sanders are both fundamentally decent and honest men

Yeah I’m not sure where people keep getting this idea that I think Bernie Sanders is infallible. The man fucks up constantly, and would undoubtedly continue to do things that piss me off if elected president.


But he is miles beyond Obama in the integrity column. This business of whitewashing politicians once they leave office is a cherished liberal pastime. That’s why a majority of Democrats see George W Bush as a fundamentally decent and honest man. Who cares about his record or the millions of people he got killed? He passes Michelle Obama candy at other war criminals’ funerals, and goes to cowboys games with Ellen. That’s all I need to know.

That’s what the subtext is though. The constant appeal to the center serves the status quo, which is Nancy’s job.

Let’s ignore the fact that Sanders won states like Michigan in 2015/16, Pelosi is telling us that the progressive agenda can’t succeed in the Midwest (code for rural whites). The obvious subtext being that, even though the Democratic establishment would TOTALLY LOVE to implement a GND or do any of the other things that their base has been demanding, their hands are tied because rust belt voters are too stupid to turn out and vote for it.


The fact that this narrative is demonstrably false is irrelevant though. The reason it’s being pushed is because it’s a believable lie. “Well sure id love to vote for Sanders, but he can’t win, we gotta go with someone closer to the center to ensure we win.” Gee I wonder who benefits from that message...

It’s why they’re still bitching about Nader. Their centrist candidates lose time and time again, despite electability being their ONLY appealing factor. “Well I don’t like Hillary either but she’s close enough to the center that she’ll win the Midwest and keep trump out.” Whoops. Not only are centrist/establishment/neoliberal agendas terrible, they can’t even deliver on their only redeeming quality: ability to win elections. Meanwhile we have socialists winning seats in the deepest of red states. Strange. What could possibly be the motivation behind such a transparent refutation of reality? Why oh why would the establishment be desperately trying to convince people that the agenda that hurts the ruling class isnt feasible? I can’t figure it out

What has he said that you (who I consider serious) don't take seriously?

I'm a huge fan of Jimmy Dore (I've seen him in Portland and San Francisco), and just want to know what he said that makes you take that opinion.  Questioning the facts around 9/11 (whatever that even means) about 10 years ago?

The liberal disdain for (and dismissal of) the white working class is a big reason why some see Trump as the only way to exact revenge on the system.

Bill Maher says shit like “I hope a recession happens” so he can be smug when trump loses reelection. Millions of people losing their jobs and their homes and their healthcare is collateral damage.
