Overlay isn’t a thing with cubes, grow pans if you want to see real overlay.

Dried out yellow matted mycelium is dried out yellow matted mycelium. It’s not overlay.

Sterilized forks are no longer sterile once you touch them with your hands in open air.

The OP’s tubs don’t have overlay, it’s looking a bit like bacteria coupled with bad conditions. Enough of the off topic posting. Warnings have been issued, let’s tone things down so I don’t have to issue bans. Thanks.

I cannot confirm that but if he is admitting to being an unapproved puppet I can permaban him for it. I feel he is just trolling, very few people have had TC tags pulled. To get a TC tag pulled is a very rare occurrence.

I think he is just trolling. If it continues I will pull out the hammer. In the meantime everyone else should simply ignore him. Hit the whistle if it gets out of hand.

TC tags take a lot of work, a lot of time invested here, and even more time perfecting your craft. My best advice is to grow your best because you love the hobby. Grow like you don’t care about a tag. That’s what I did and still do.

This is totally OFF-Topic, but I don't know how to open a Thread (I am new to this Forum, but am reading for like 2 months now) and have some questions.
No i am not lazy to begin with, i am searching like hell but english is not my mother tongue, so i have my problems with the Wording/shortcuts and some posts are 17 years old, so i am kinda thinking that this could be the type of oldschool where i get outdated answers.

That you can oversee what i am doing, what i am planning to do:
I ordered my Spore Syringe, want to to a Verm/brown rice flour substrate cake (pf ) in "marmalade jars". I read that i can inoculate 10-12 Jars with 10ml Syringe (i think 10ml was in the Syringe but not so sure).
I have 3 Monotubs, 1 bigger one and 2 little ones to experiment.

I read in a Thread that you can either just put the substrate cakes on a rill and let them fruit out of the cake or breaking up my cake to do layers and finish the layers with a layer out of verm on top.

So here are my questions, i hope sb can help me:

1) Should i put my Verm/Rice flour substrate cakes when they are fully colonized on a rill and just mist them + fan them? (do i even need to fan them when i have micropore tape on my drilled holes?) or should i do layers?

2) I want to grow standard cubensis (heard they are easy to handle and for grow beginners), the temperature when colonizing in my jars should be 27 degrees + no light? When i birth them, fruiting time, no direct sunlight + 23,6 degrees? (if i do layers, how many days should i let the mono tub stay in the dark, when i break up my substrate cake -> the whole thing has to get fully colonized again right?)

3) is 1/8 Perlite at the bottom of my Monotub good or should i don't do it?

4) can i just cook the pf jars in a normal cooker (before inoculated) or do i really have to take a pressure cooker -> to sterilize everything?

Sorry for the long text, but i am super hyped to grow my first own fungus instead of buying from random dudes.

Colonize the cakes, grate them up, mix with a substrate, no layering. Mix and case at spawning with a thin layer of coir. Keep everything in a 12/12 light cycle. With PF cakes, a PC isn't required

Light cycle at every step. Yes, coir is the recommended substrate.

You said mix and case with a thin layer of coir, that means i should mix some coir with my substrate and my grated cake? Afterwards a thin layer on top of my mixture? (Casing is the layer on top, aye?

You also said Coir is the recommended substrate, so i should mix up my grated cake with coir and mix it again with coir + give a layer of coir at top?

or do you mean another substrate?

Thanks! Alright, i think i am staying with my pf tek and will add some coir and a bit of gypsum. I also read the psilocybin bible (and some other stuff) and going to stick to it.
Hopefully my Syringe arrives :rolleyes::syringe:
