Can I spawn a larger coir tub with a smaller tub?

Hello frinds! Excuse the noobiness, but I gotta question:

Can I use a fully colonized (yet not fruiting) smaller coir tub / shoebox to spawn a larger coir tub?

Background: I'm planning on graduating from brf cakes in a sfc to bulk coir monotubs / shoeboxes. I've done enough research to feel confident in using some fresh crumbled consolidated brf cakes to spawn a small coir tub in a 1:1 substrate to spawn ratio.

After that small box of coir substrate is fully spawned, could I use it to then spawn an even larger tub?

I've encountered conflicting info in the forums which has lead to my question above. Some say the coir does not provide the nutrients the plants need; it serves only as a growth substrate. While others say the coir is the food itself.

If the coir is food, then in theory an average homo sapiens sapiens should be able to continue spawning larger and larger tubs with only some starting spawn, water and coir... right?

appendix 4 fellow noobs:
brf = brown rice flour
sfc = shotgun fruiting chamber

1, mushrooms are not plants
2. coir is not 'food' grain spawn is food
3. no. its called superspawning and i dont believe its practical.
