I think we need to end this Democrat vs Republican shit and try something new. I think most people have views on both sides so I don't see the point of having team right and left anymore. Idealism is nice, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions and this is now a war. Mitch McConnell prevented the Senate from even doing a confirmation vote on Obama's nominee for SCOTUS. Democracy is broken. I have no illusions about the Democrats, but there are only about 5% of the Republicans in congress who are worth trying to compromise with.

I do think the United states government is better than most. When we come together as a group we can actually get shit done. The government didn't want us to have pot or kratom but we demanded them to back the fuck off and they did for the most part. The government doesn't want us to have rifles but a lot of us put are money together and demanded them to back the fu-k off. Even if you dont like pot or guns you should be happy that the people have the ability to control those things. Citizens don't have that kind of power in places like the UK. There's a reason why people are trying to move to the United states. The United states is great. I love how all the states have their own laws! If you don't like pot then you can move to a state that doesn't have pot. If you hate guns you can move to a state with strict gun laws. There's really no reason to bitch about anything šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. If you don't like the culture or laws all you have to do is drive a couple hours and the problem is solved lol. I seriously don't understand why people are complaining.

We have the NRA to tell the government what to want.

The ar-15 used to be banned federally. It isnā€™t anymore because the government wanted it. It would be permissible under the current interpretation of the second ammendment to ban most semiautomic weapons. Those weapons arenā€™t banned federally because the government has made a choice.

You make an extraordinary claim and I asked for a simple source.  As far as I know, I've never heard a politician, much less our gov't, saying they wanted to ban all long guns.

Perhaps you could drop the hysteria for a couple mins and just link a vid of a politician saying they want to ban my long guns? 

You snuck in a very specific rifle at the end of your post.  If by "rifles" you really meant 'weapons built on the AR platform' then I guess all I can say is words mean things and a more precise choice of words would save you a lot of unwarranted hatred and aggravation.

Trump did not create this problem. What did you think would happen when the Democrats put such a broad amnesty clause in the spending package? I do think Trump tried to stop it. He kept the government shut down longer than any other president before and in my opinion he should have left it shut down longer.

Now, there are even larger caravans showing up even more frequently at the border. We don't even have beds for them because democrats blocked the funding for it. The problem is only getting worse. Do you think they put such a broad amnesty clause in? Are democrats even going to admit there's a problem?

it's more than that though. It's not even so much that they are expecting the dreamers, plus all of their extended family, since each immigrant typically sponsors seven or eight other relatives into America to vote for them.

It's that it comes into conflict with the pretense that the loving compassionate democrats are saving all of the helpless starving migrants from the greedy ravages of the dirty capitalist republicans.

That is the issue with this memo. It's from a high ranking Democrat in a leadership position secretly telling other Democrats that the migrants are an important voting block.

So when that pretense starts to slip then the only thing left is vying for power, because that's what votes are essentially. Which isn't good politicking to have that come out. The Democrats typically do a good job of staying away from that dirty little secret, but it does come out sometimes. Youtube is getting ridiculous with their algorithms so it's harder to find now, but there was a video I used of Stacy Abrams saying the "blue wave" would be undocumented.

It makes a great example of WHY the migrant crisis is happening. Just like the memo I showed you, it explains exactly WHY this is happening, and it's not Trump that is causing it. Trump is trying to stop it, but Democrats do seem to hold a disproportionate amount of power due to the media.

So when push comes to shove that is why they get their way. That is why there's a migrant crisis. No, it's not Trumps fault. We haven't been enforcing immigration law for decades now. Do you really think Trump, who showed up in just the last couple of years caused all of this? That doesn't even pass the common sense test.

It's a troll and could be fixed if desired, but it's not desired because it triggers the left so well.

Trump doesn't have a lot going for him today, so triggering people on the other side is actually something he can accomplish.
