Nice finds all:thumbup:
Protostropharia semiglobata for the suspect P.alutacea. The two species are often found growing alongside one another so keep a lookout in that area.

Some more to add

P.subaeruginosa

Coprinellus disseminatus

A.muscaria

Hunted the south recently. Subs are still few and far between generally but if you work hard and put the miles in there are plenty to be found. Most have just very recently come up, no old ones. Mainly restricted to the gullies but found the odd ones on hilltops.

All new hunting terrain for me so to find over a dozen patches in a day this early is a nice change from the north. Hunting in the south is certainly easier than the north. They're everywhere with appropriate habitat it seems and there's less blackberry to contend with, with much broader grassy areas. Can't wait to see the peak of the season.

Amanitas, slippery jacks and pine mushrooms are as bountiful as I've ever seen them. The amanitas in particular are everywhere. Very pretty time of year to be out.

If I were a noob to hunting I'd wait it out a little longer. Still pretty hard to find good amounts and you could easily end up with nothing.

Beautiful pics as always Bob.

Cheers southoz. I still use a dedicated camera and my phone is just that, a phone. The photo quality of modern phones is pretty amazing too and it's reflected in the season threads.

Good to hear you had success in the South FoN it's a pretty incredible area to hunt. My favourite actually, just a long drive!

@frunco
 :congrats: gorgeous P.alutacea, the lot of them!

You should start a new thread for ids in future.

The photo's aren't great, so next time use a better camera, or at least better lighting.

The fruit's gone stodgy from poor storage/drying technique. Before you head back out, read up on storage while hunting, drying, and long term storage, or it will all be for nothing.

Alway do spore prints for an id.

And lastly..... sorry mate they aren't active. Even if they were, most of those would be inedible.

Keep at it.

Thats really stupid.
Your playing with a hobby that can make you very sick or worse.

Do not consume any mushrooms unless you are 100percent sure of what they are.

Looks like you have at least 2 types of mushroom.I do see some blue staining but your pictures are quite bad. The one your holding in pic 2 and the top right 2 caps pieces in pic 3 as well the left and bottom left cap pieces in pic 3. Maybe take some more shots of those so we can take a closer look at them. They do look to be in poorshape though and It would be best if you could revisit the areas where you got those to get more. Habitat shots help in the ID process too.

My first thought about those one's was Leratiomyces ceres. The caps are a pretty dark orange on top, and that bluing looks black to me.

Surrounding areas in this particular location are fruiting now. Must have been pins before or i missed them somehow.

Great little hunt in the hills, took about 20 specimens and left about 50 pins. Discovered two new patches so an exciting hunt in my second season.

Not an ID request really but I'm assuming this could be a Gallerina? No veil though.

It's not Gallerina. Id hazard a guess of Hypholoma sp.
