South America?

Hence "Amazonians" is there alot of South American active mushrooms? It seems like South America would have the best climate and surroundings for them to thrive... Anyone ever been hunting down there?

Peru! [Re: whole9]

Well I have inquired in Lima and most of the city boys dont know what "hongos magicos"(magic mushrooms) are or the "teanactl" (i cant spell it). And that's a Mexican word, so Peruvians probably wouldnt be familiar with it anyway.

The best bet would be to go to Iquitos in the jungle near the mouth of the amazon and ask for a "curandero" (a curer or medicine man). They are everywhere.

A good one would have more than just shrooms though. Salvia(a smokable hallucinogen), ayahuasca(a complex ritual involving boiled roots), San Pedro cactus(Torchus Peruvianus --Peru's very own mescaline --and very available in the towns to the south of Lima), coca leaves(for trekking in the mountains), very cheap(30 bucks an ounce) outdoor sinsemilla, and the "white" at 5 bucks a gram.

I mean, shit, if you didnt find shrooms you wouldnt exactly be without options...

I'm growing some San Pedro, as mescaline or peyote isn't an option (I live in NZ). Has anyone tried both San Pedro mescaline and conventional peyote/mescaline for a comparison? I've had a browse through erowid but they havn't got anything concrete.

there are some species of psilocybe inhabiting south america. there are also many species through out mexico and central america. some of the indigenous people call them teonanacatl, but only in southern mexico. there are also many species of psychotropic plants, but be aware many of those plants have unpleasant side effects. here are some psilocybes you might run into if your lucky... ps. pintonii, ps. venezuelana, ps. chilensis, ps. peruviana, ps. brasiliensis and ps. banderillensis. there are just some of the psilocybin fungi indigenous to south america some active and some inactive.
