Nice one mate, glad you enjoyed the ride.

I bought a new dehydrator from Harvey Norman yesterday. The lady behind the counter said they rarely sell them, but in the last week they've nearly sold out a few times, and nobody there could work out why.

She was like "what the hell is everyone using them for?"  I just shrugged

Hahah that's funny as! Ive had mine for a few years but for making biltong(s.african jerky)
It dried them to crisp in like 4-5 hours super fast imo. Probably could have gone a bit longer but I was keen to get them down the hatch.

This! I found my first subs ever friday/saturday and went to nearly every Aldi in my city looking for them (they advertised them new for $40) - all sold out. I saw the $129 on Harvey norman website but the reviews said it was really loud, so I took the to streets of Gumtree to pick one up second hand for $25 and it worked a treat.

SA Shroomers - good for the economy

I wouldn't mind a dehydrator but I already have too much stuff around the house and the fan and damprid combo works well enough for me for subs. I'll probably cave when I see one in an op shop at some stage.

That too! Welcome to the club. Makes me nostalgic for my first trip, which was mindblowing, life-changing, and mild as hell compared to the trips that followed.

In other  news I was reading up on Phytophthora last night and it's some nasty shit. I'm definitely gonna put a hygiene kit together today before I start exploring new places, and recommend anyone else who gets around SA does the same. Perhaps it's just delaying the inevitable but I think it's worth the effort.

Cheer brk I'll fix that. The link isn't broken but I forgot that archive.is is now censored/blocked in Australia. Just not by my ISP, apparently.

I found a singular sub pin and nothing else in the 6-7 hrs I was out. Gonna start looking in the Adelaide hills but don't know anything about the Adelaide hills or it's suburbs to look in or where to look, so if anyone could give me some pointers without releasing their spot info that would be much appreciated. Super lost when it comes to adl hills

Went for a walk to my best producing hill top spot in the north today, and to my surprise nothing.... not even a pin.

At first I thought it might have been picked already, but after a good walk and a hard look, I decided that it's just not moist enough there yet.

So it seems we're still somewhat behind the 8ball up here, even though plenty of spots are producing. Looks like I'll have to wait until the next lot of rain for that spot.

Here's how it's looking.

Lucky for me, I live in a gully, so I just went home and picked the creekline. My home patch is not huge, but I probably bagged ~50 nice size subs.

Home patch shots

I had to post a shot of this beast of a dehydrator on it's maiden voyage.

And finally, I just wanted to say BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

I have never seen so many fences cut and so much 4x4 erosion damage to the tracks in the park and on foresty SA property... ever....

I ran into an undercover cop looking for 4x4ers. There will be an increased police and forestry SA presence over the next few weeks, probably longer. How could there not be with what they've done.... Fucking knobs.

/End rant, and happy hunting :cookiemonster:

Nice pics, nice picks

Love the home patch, sucks about idiots being idiots. I've got no sympathy for people who don't respect the places they go, it makes things harder for all. Honestly who cuts a bloody fence?

Nice finds Grinch:thumbup:
Meaty subs The Thing:thumbup: it'd have to be coming up to full swing down south? I've actually only found one pine forest devoid of subs down that way. That whole area is infested!
Home patch is gorgeous brk, it's nice to have subs right at the doorstep. I have a few growing around my place too but they haven't started yet.

It is an absolute mess out there with the 4x4 dickheads about:mad2:. It's easily the worst I've seen it.

Saw a cop pull up behind a parked car in a picking hotspot and search the area. Every time I see someone parked there it's obvious what they're up to given the area is only good for one thing. You'd think it's common sense but don't park right where you intend to pick in these places and always walk out well away from where you've parked. Better yet steer clear of the common ground marked by patches riddled with garbage.

@bob good job on spotting the spot based on the photo

I thought across the river was private property, I'll make sure to check it next time

I must've just missed you today.:wonka:

Found a few plus plenty of tracks in what was once a seemingly very private spot.

Plenty more out there....so the beat goes on.
