Yes I tested this a few weeks ago with a 365 nm Nichia UV flashlight
They did not fluoresce.

They may not fluoresce as the LSD has already leaked out . . .

Check a last year patch and it has grown . . . Pins every where . . . Too dark for decent pics, left most to grow a bit for a Saturday stroll.

First patch. Last year (albeit late in the season) this patch flushed once, nice big caps, really orange, no spores, and went more green than blue? Definitely going to clone one of these this year. Notice the mush in the middle of the second pic with an annulus! Highlights how close death can sit to your fun!!?!


This patch, I thought dried up, has grown since last year, picked 50 dried and matures, with more than that remaining.

I think he was joking, since LSD does "glow" under UV light.


I'm not expecting the psychoactive components to glow, but various insects and plants appear to glow slightly with it. I wouldn't expect mushrooms to light up as absolute beacons, but at night even the slightest hint would shift the possibility of finding some from "an absolute waste of time" to "a remote possibility".

Yeah it is bro, I always find caps that have that aesthetic, the margin curls over the pileus.

Next time shall take good pics of fresh specimens that do that, those pics were just hard and fast shitty habitat ones just to show the new seco patch and the new sub patch.

Been so dry in CHCH I haven't been out for much of a look this season until today



All found in a new patch and was a few days late as there were hundreds of old black boys in some big clusters, so that was unfortunate. But still stoked to get a decent first haul this year!! And too see the hundreds of pins popping up!!!

I'm assuming galerina marginata due to the orange stem and anulus. Fairly sure no NZ psilocybes have a ring around their stem. Their gills aren't as crowded either.

Ahhhh am out hunting atm and found a couple of beautiful patches that are absolutely popping with pins, along with a couple of mature mushrooms. I picked the few mature mushrooms and then keep looking around. A few minutes later I peer over to see some person obviously checking out that patch so head over after they've gone and they straight up fucked the patch! Ripped all the pins right out of the ground, trampled other mushrooms and left little babies lying on the ground after ripping the ones around them out 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 What an absolute shitter.

Thank fuck they didn't find the other patch but oml.

I swear people, pinch the mushrooms off. Don't take pins, let them grow and drop spores. All you're doing is screwing everyone by killing patch after patch when you do this shit 😡

Thats despicable. I found a spot last year that I thought wouldnt get found out. After a few visits, i came and heaps of the mycelium was uprooted/ripped up, was very frustrating to say the least. Damn mushroom vandals.

This is the tossup I guess, take the pins so noone finds the patch to vandalise or not...

I'm of the opinion that those who destroy, then get fucked up, learn and reflect and discuss and learn . . . NOT TO FUCKING DO IT AGAIN.

And sometimes leave them and some times not.

Yeah, it's a real shitter, and I do agree with Bobbit about it being a tossup... I've got a whoooole bunch of things going to get my own patches started tho, so hopefully it'll never be an issue again...

I half heartedly tried spawning last year.

This year, fresh clones to agar, to soaked woodchip (large), layerred, then spread to all the 'funguys' (and gals) I know.

Shotgun approach.

Also think that rye spawn missions to likely locations also.

And some pftek multispore for genetic diversity and good measure.

Tired of looking dodgy and risking. . .
