OK plate for grains?

I want to put this Burma plate to grains, just wanted to check if it looks OK to anybody here.
This is a T2 from a print I took off of one of my first PF tek grows, streaked with a homemade loop. So much to learn I think my girlfriend is getting sick of me lol.

Got these guys into some whole Brown rice, colonized nicely IMO, but here's some pics of the jars.

I think I see what you are referring to, the area between 6 and 9 looks like it's growing at a different pace than the rest of the plate. Already too late too further isolate this plate though cut it up and dumped it into two separate jars of whole brown rice

No need to isolate at this point IMO, better off fruiting and taking clones. Looks nice and clean.

Could be temp swings from night to day, could be hidden bacteria

Yeah you’re right,  those brown rice jars are lookin a bit bacterial. Agar looks pretty good, but those rings might be from hidden bacteria and not temp swings.

What was your grain prep?

I pc'd at 15psi for about 110 min, vented for 10 min before putting the weight on top

Could bacteria be affecting myc in that regular intervals? How to detect hidden bacteria in agar is still a mistery for me, I don't know how you guys can do it from pics hehe

If you take a flashlight and shine through the bottom of the plate and see little spots that look like moisture but don't move when you tilt the plate, that's bacteria.

Bacteria can also come from bad technique; not flaming scalpel enough, touching lip of jar with scalpel handle. All minor mistakes but if your grain is over hydrated any amount of bacteria will expand exponentially, especially when you shake the jars/bags.

Basically anything acting out of the ordinary is either enmeshed mold or bacteria. Comes with experience knowing what it should and shouldn’t looks like. Bacteria is microscopic but it causes visible changes in the organization of the myc.

This is very helpful thank you! I think the rice may have been a little wet to begin with, and my technique is definitely lacking, but I am working on it. I appreciate the feedback, I'm willing to bet you are right about the rings in the plate being related to bacteria too looking at the tufts on the plate. I remember reading in a post that these can be a sign of bacteria riding along as well, you can see them more at the 3oclock area on the middle rings

First flush from the two boxes i made with this plate. They're definitely skinnier than the Golden teacher I have going right now but a much more even flush.
Larger box yielded 304g wet, 223g wet for the smaller box.

Much thanks to those who have helped me along the way I really appreciate the guidance!
