Do you know how many got rye working after posts JUST like this one? About 90%. Dont be such a discouraging asshole. If you want to give up on things, thats fine for you. Some people have confidence in themselves and wish to ACTUALLY succeed at something instead of giving up. Advice to give up to those people isnt needed.

IMO, you insult ROOTED's intelligence more by suggesting that hes to stupid to figure out rye. Rye doesnt require magic, it requires figuring how how you screwed up. Because thats what happened, you screwed it up. It doesnt mean someones stupid. Just like the first time your taught how to start a car when your like 6 or whatever you would be. The first few times you do it, you might turn the key to long and grind the starter. That doesnt mean you have to give up.

in fact, it's more a question of opportunity cost and opportunity benefit than "discouraging" or "encouraging." furthermore, rooted has said in his first post that he's following magash's tek. moreover, the real issue that i have been harping on is that at a certain point no amount of tek posting or suggesting can help an individual figure out what is going wrong with his/her INDIVIDUAL results. that is, how much time does one want to invest in a substrate that has not worked three consecutive times, despite following magash's tek to a T? with the given that no one is likely to be able to solve rooted's problem other than himself, i suggested trying a different grain, such as wbs. it's a question of time and energy--that's not discouraging, nor is it insulting to his intelligence to suggest trying something else, especially considering that i am in the same boat as he is.

i apologize for obviously being exasperated with rye but anyone would be after expending as much time and energy as i have. i'm not really interested in hiding my exasperation--people should know that it is not a sure thing grain and that others have tried and failed and have (hopefully) succeeded with other grains. discouraging? i'm not giving up or throwing in the towel, nor have i suggested rooted do so. on the contrary, i have suggested the most logical next step when all possible avenues are exhausted: try something else, in this case, wbs, millet, popcorn, etc. hell, try pasta. just keep trying. <= that's the height of negativity.

The point is, no grain is a sure thing. If someone doesnt care what substrate theyre working with then yes, switching grains is a good suggestion. However you didnt JUST suggest. You harassed people when they offered help. You dont know if the advice could help or not. You dont know what Rooted did more than anyone else. Only he does, as youve said so many times. So make your suggestion, sure...but if its not taken, and others continue offering advice on ways that he can fix his problem and go with rye (because its worth it, fruit directly off grains and rye is superior IME) dont come back yelling at people that all their helping isnt doing ROOTED (someone thats not even you) any good. Let Rooted decide if he's in the same boat as you and he just needs to switch grains, dont badger people about it.

Like your last sentence says "JUST KEEP TRYING".
