it's like non-eksistence is tied to some of the existence that is of lowest quality

lives are in cycles

I watched anthony bourdain and there were some guys threatening the place he was in and the people and he said as long as x we'll make it through

first of all lives are in cycles and one gets it better for 40 years then worse for 40 years. then it ends where it started. what we'll make it through meant is that they could have gotten it worse because of lack of safety until they had ceased existing. but they were not attacked and so anthony bourdain didn't get it worse fast until non-existence, he kept having it of higher quality than were he attacked. it's not as icelander thought that we go to heaven when we die, we go through empty hell, more and more hell until non-existence.

it is obvious in pineapple express, twin peaks and enter the void that we get it worse when we die. "hawk I'm dying"

I watched a spider that was dying and it had it of about half as good as when it was at the peak of it's life

certainly we can agree that when it was dead it had it lower quality than when it was in the peak of it's life

when nature dies it doesn't suddenly go up to having it of a higher quality, it just falls apart

please all, remember, everyday as a human is a near death experience, never are we closer to death than when focusing on the material, it is all around us, our bodies die and regrow daily, the only real substance they have is the etheric electrical signature


physical death is the continuation of the journey through the infinite experience of the universe, the life that animates our dirt is immutable and is always a part of us, we cannot be alone except in the flesh

John would have loved what I am posting now. It is a poem quoted at the end of Journey to Ixtlan by Carlos Castaneda. John always interpreted Castaneda's stuff more darkly than myself. On this one he was spot on.

It was comforting to read the varying impressions my dear friend had on the members of this community. His loss weighs heavily on me tonight, so I thought I'd read his old posts for a little while.

The years when we were both regulars here were early in our 17 year friendship. When we couldn't be happy as a couple,  I moved to a house a few doors down so we would still be a short walk apart. But the emotional distance was a span I couldn't bridge,  and we lost touch.

He always had a clear idea of the quality of life that he considered a minimum for the trouble of staying around. He wanted answers to the big questions,  and loved our long conversations about philosophy,  culture,  psychology,  and history. After years of distance,  we were close again in his last years. I am glad that his heart opened to me again,  and we could express love and appreciation.

I miss him every day,  and also feel so grateful for having been his love and friend.

I think Huehuecoyotl was quite clear about his role (as well as his feelings) in the demise of The Icelander. If you followed the posts on this thread you would see the unfoldment and resolution without the need for some random conspiracy hypothesis or morbid curiosity.

i began looking at this site when i was quite young, and i must say, icelander had quite an impact on me. he was one of the consistent posters who seemed to have an honest commitment to rigor and truth. i found him and many others on this site inspiring and part of what helped me develop into the person i am today. all i can say is thank you icelander and the shroomery :heart: Rest in peace

I would hesitate to refer to Ice as a "drug person". He enjoyed the occasional psychedelic, but to name him such would be taking his humanity. He was mostly a law abiding person with a deep sense of personal conviction. The witness protection program would have never been needed by such as he. Besides I helped dispose of his remains. Markos' is correct to say read the thread.
